The attention the owners gave to detail was remarkable from comfortable mattress and bedding, plenty of towels, fresh cookies and water, “clean” toiletries and soaps, and very clear directions for everything. "This beautiful property was perfect for what we needed. Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. The pool was great, even in May! The hosts are top knotch. Highly recommend!"

The area is well marked so you know where to take care of trash, find extra parking...etc. Very quiet location and feels secluded but you're only minutes away from grocery store. "What a wonderful home away from home! Our room was just perfect. Nicely designed, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We enjoyed a bottle of wine sitting on the dock while taking in the beauty of the lake. Nicole was extremely welcoming when we arrived & very sweet. We even got to meet the furbabies who greeted us with wagging tails & doggie smiles. We will definitely be staying again in the future. If 10 stars were an option we would rate this rental as a 10!"

"Overall I'm glad we picked this hotel. The staff at the hotel were super nice! The floor in our room was a bit squeaky, but we barely heard anything from the floor above us. The pool was a very comfortable temperature and the sauna felt good. They had a heavy snow early on the day we checked in, so we were glad to have a lower level to park in!"
