Food was superb with great variety, steak & ale pie was a must eat choice, full English breakfast was piping hot and a great setup for the day ahead. Room was comfortable with reliable WiFi. Parking was spacious. We had a great three night stay and look forward to returning."

"I felt welcome at the hotel from the word go. I arrived on late afternoon Sunday anf there was some good live music on in the courtyard. The hotel doesn't do a Sunday evening meal but I was signposted to good local alternatives. Breakfast in the old oak dining room was great. Building dates back to 1596 with assocations to the Civil War. Landlady Helen and rest of staff very kind and helpful. Great experience as a solo female traveller"
