The location near the town is great (make sure to have a car!) and still close enough to Heraklion. There were plenty of beds and the layout of the houses/villas was great for a large group. "Pool and surroundings were excellent and the host was very nice and helpful. However the interior was very disappointing particularly the very narrow spiral staircase that 2 75 year olds had to climb up to sleep and my wife had a broken leg and still on crutches!!! We were never told about the stairs and there was nothing on the site indicating that was the situation. Also the beds were very uncomfortable and far too hard and gave us bad backs.the kitchen needs a few more accompaniments as well....

"The property was great. We were welcomed by the owner and treated with cake, water and wine. The one issue was Crete was much larger than we expected and property is located in the middle of the island. We were not able to explore as much as we wanted due to our time constraints. The property located on a closed military establishment with homes interspersed and restaurants along the coast. Washer worked great tho instructions were in Greek and took much longer to do a load than expected....

"We have just completed the most relaxing holiday ever. Ester was in touch with us before our arrival and made everything so smooth. We we're greeted by Ester and her son Nikos on arrival and we're greeted by lots of Goodies. Homemade meal, wine and fully stocked fridge and pantry. "We had an incredible stay at Villas Anenomilos. we stayed for one week however could have stayed a lot longer. The facilities at the villa are perfect, you have everything you need. The sunset each night was amazing. We rented a vehicle but the local taxi company was also very reliable whenever we needed it, despite there being 18 of us. "Four of us had a lovely stay in this property. We had everything that we needed, beds were comfortable, area was quiet (we were out of season). As it was April we paid extra for pool heating but that meant we could use the pool everyday, which we did. The view is stunning and we all enjoyed looking across the sea from the sun loungers in the afternoon. It was a real pleasure to be in such a nice villa for five days."

"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion.
