My mom and I really enjoyed our stay. Rooms and buildings are renovated, the area and surroundings are very peaceful, lots of activities to do & staff is very friendly, except for Chris at the front desk who does not seem to want to be there. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Helen. Loved the oldies music being played at breakfast!

We will be back ! We loved the lodge. However, There was a roach over an inch long in the shower our 1st night there. We laughed as we gave it a swimming farewell! And 2nd, the heat/ac was rattling quite loud , but we were so tired we slept through it! It would make watching the tv a bit hard! It was nice to have the bar and restaurants available on the property. Made it pretty handy. The king bed was comfortable as were the pillows. It was located centrally for us to visit Cleveland, Helen, and other places!

I stayed at Unicoi State Park Lodge for one night while attending Oktoberfest in Helen, and it was a wonderful experience overall.  Upon arrival, the front desk staff was so helpful and thorough in explaining the property layout and check-in details. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful scenic view. The standout feature for us was the lodge’s shuttle service straight into downtown Helen, it made attending Oktoberfest stress-free without having to worry about parking or navigating back. Tip for future guests: Your stay actually includes a pass to the state park! We ended up visiting and paying for entry to the state park before checking into the lodge, so keep that in mind if you plan to explore the park, check in or ask for your pass first to save a few dollars. We didn't have time to explore the other lodge amenities since we spent most of our trip downtown, but we would definitely stay here again!

A lot of cockroaches in the room and outside. Big window at the ceiling that doesn't have blinds, no chance to wake up later in the morning. Room was clean. Rooms and building smells old. You have to pay for everything extra. Location is good though!

We came to the Helen area for an event that kept us away from the property most of our time. We found the location to be the BEST feature for our stay. Close to Helen but away from the hustle and bustle of the "tourist attractions". We enjoyed the morning view of Yonah Mt. and the lush tree landscape, peaceful and quiet. The property is fairly well maintained and our room was a 4 out of 5 on cleanliness. A few swipes with a bug brush along the tongue and groove ceiling to remove old spider webs and we'd give it a 5 star on cleanliness. Bed linens needed a refresh as well as the bed pillows.
