Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!

Glenn and Susann were lovely hosts who showed us great hospitality. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was skillfully cooked to order, full of options and served with great attention. We enjoyed our stay at Storrs Gate House during our time in the Lake District.

There are not enough stars nor points to give this hotel! It is perfectly placed near the Lakes, but not so close as to be crowded. Our room was lovely, with all the right touches and amenities: great shower, comfy bed, and REAL COFFEE! The included breakfast is fantastic, and do not miss the restaurant (we ate there 3 times in 2 days), as the food is superb! Every staff member we encountered was delightful. We would go out of our way to stay there again!

After a busy week exploring Scotland, my boyfriend and I decided to make a stop for a couple of day in the quiet town of Windermere to get some rest and relaxation before continuing onto our busy adventures down in London. Jericho was just what we needed. The entire place was beautifully decorated and very very well kept. Our room was so cozy (but spacious) and luxurious--I probably could have just moved in. Oh and don't even get me started about the breakfasts! They serve up a WONDERFUL...

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. The hosts were great and offered advice on dining in the local area and walking directions to the town. We spent most of our time traveling the area and did not eat in the restaurant. The room was a little on the small side and the hot weather required a fan in the room which did not add to the comfort. Otherwise all good and worth a visit

Wonderful bed and breakfast to stay during weekend getaways. I was a tourist from the USA and the property owners were polite, attentive and courteous. The room was spacious with windows overlooking the lake. I would highly recommend this location for you future stays at the Lake District!

Stayed in the Parisian suite. Absolutely gorgeous. Will book again and will try another room because they all look fab.

Really lovely B & B just a few minutes walk into the centre which had plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants It’s also near the Orrest Head walk with spectacular views. We ate at Tapios one night for delicious tapas and highly recommended them. Our second night we ate at The Pig ( name changed to Tilly’s ) and had their Cajun chicken burger… yummy! The LInthwaite House Hotel is absolutely marvelous--in every way. The location overlooking Lake Windermere is perfect--amazing views, feels like a million miles from the tourist chaos below, yet extremely handy to everything is one wanted to pop to a local pub or explore. The manor house is absolutely beautiful, in superb condition, with many inviting public spaces--not the least being a marvelous atrium room overlooking the panorama below. Wonderful room and staff. Breakfast was brought to the room. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants yet out of the high crowd area.

Beautifully kept and spacious rooms. Owners were very pleasant and communication was top notch. Highly recommend and will make sure to stay here the next time we are in Bowness.

A truly amazing property. Unparalleled service, exquisite country setting, the most wonderful food and presentation. We were here two different nites within a week and were welcomed back on our second stay like old friends. Deco is amazing...cannot say enough about this wonderful property.
