"My wife and I stayed 7 days and it was a great experience. Top notch staff. Accommodations were nothing fancy but who goes to Hawaii to stay in their room. Everything was clean and felt safe. The property was beautiful with breathtaking views of the water and mountains. Just prepare yourself that if you stay in Hilo it will rain a lot, but rain typically passes quickly. At least that was our experience."

"Instead of driving home late we wanted a place to stay after going to the theater in Hilo. Dolphin Bay Hotel was perfect. Within walking distance to the theater, shops and restaurants made it a very convenient option. Our room and the entire area is very clean. Our room was airy and comfortable. Our host even upgraded at no extra charge. There was a complete kitchen and the shower and bath tub were great. The grounds are kept beautifully, staff were very friendly and helpful - we felt aloha from everyone. We will be back."

" It was my first time staying at the property. The shared bathroom and shared kitchen was concern at first, but I got used to after the first night. On the first night, there was another guest sleeping on the couch in the shared living room. That MF snored like a loud dying pig. The walls are not that thick and I could hear him from my room. But, liked that the room opened to the balcony. The room, Room 2, where I stayed was close to a highway so the traffic noise was bearable, but the traffic died down in the evening. The balcony also has two plastic Adirondack chairs where I sat every morning watching the sunrise, if you could look beyond the power cables that sometimes interfered with the view. The property was within 20 min of where I needed to go. There’s a McDonald’s with an all-day/all-night drive through; would get my coffee and breakfast and sit on the balcony waiting for the sunrise. It would be nice to have a Keurig that is connected to the plumbing so no need to refill. There’s also a full size fridge/freezer where you can store your leftovers."

"This home looked great in the pictures, but they honestly do not do it justice. Definitely the nicest property we ever stayed at! Immaculate, roomy, and well supplied, it exceeded all our expectations. The sunrises were different ever morning, but each one spectacular. The abundance of sea turtles for watching in the water near the shore may have been our favorite part. Thank you for sharing this place with us!"
