"Easy check in and loads of parking. The room was absolutely amazing, we were outside so felt like being in a cabin overlooking the garden. Bathroom was huge and clean. Went to the bar in the evening and the service was great. Can't fault this hotel"

"I booked with quite late notice and arrived before the typical check-in time. The welcome was warm and nothing seemed to much trouble from the start. The rooms have been sensitively decorated with little touches that link the interiors with the train station across the road, which was nice. The room was perfectly comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was made with real care and attention. I stay away in a lot of soulless hotels but Harpers isn’t one of them. The team are wonderfully hospitable and it’s clear to see the love and care that extends through every element of the experience here. Unbelievable value for money. I will definitely be back."

"The staff were really friendly and lovely and the stay was so value for money with breakfast included. The bed was also quite comfy and the room was nice and warm. The decor is a little outdated but that doesn't affect the stay at all. The pub was decent and although we didnt try the food, the menu looked great."

"Great hotel with really nothing by way of competition anywhere in the area. Only thing to keep in mind is that for some reason the top floor rooms get really hot, even with the radiator turned off (we stayed in February last year, early March this year). So you need to have the windows open, and the road can be really busy and quite noisy. So we'd recommend asking for a room on the back of the hotel. Other than that, the staff are amazing, the food is great, the bathrooms are clean and modern and the bed and bed linens are comfy and high quality. Top marks!"

"Stayed for afew days for a wedding, our stay also included New Years eve. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us with more space than we were expecting. We had a great time playing games and sitting round the log fire talking. The wi-fi was also good which was great for streaming movies etc. The weather was a bit wild when we were there so we didnt get the most from the walks that are on the door step. Good communication from Susie throughout our stay. Would certainly stay again. "
