The Mandarin is a private waterfront retreat in Hartswell, Great Exuma, with breathtaking views of Moriah Cay and its protected National Park. From your own dock, you can set out each day to discover pristine sandbars, secluded beaches, and calm turquoise waters.

This spacious home features 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 8 adults and 2 children. A pool overlooking the ocean, a large yard, and an outdoor bar with a Hibachi grill make it perfect for family gatherings or relaxed evenings. The house is fully air-conditioned, equipped with modern amenities, and powered in part by solar energy with natural filtered rainwater. A backup generator ensures peace of mind during island power outages.

Moriah Cay—famous for its untouched beaches and crystal-clear waters—is less than 500 yards from your door. Two kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards are included, giving you the freedom to explore nearby islands, fishing flats, and hidden coves. For more adventures, boat rentals can be arranged to Stocking Island, Elizabeth Harbour, or Sandy Cay.

Mandarin was a great house that was very nicely appointed. It was super comfortable for the six of us in our party. The water of Moriah Cay was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend this home for your Exuma stay.

The Mandarin House was perfect for our family of 9. Plenty of room to spread out and have our own space. The house had everything you would need for a great time in Exuma. Kitchen was well appointed with anything you might need for cooking meals. The generator was great for power outages. Filtered water available. Loved the pool and dock for boat we rented from Drex. He was great to work with. Monica and Jonas were great host and always responded quickly to any questions.

The property was perfect for our group of 4 couples. Everyone had their own space and plenty of room to stretch out. We enjoyed the pool on the property and the dock and view! Both the host and owner were quite helpful and responsive!

Beautiful island, lovely people!

Beautiful spot, super convenient, lovely people. Groceries easy to find. Kitchen perfect for food prep and group meals. Sitting by pool lovely. We had some challenges with the ac units smelling of mold due to lack of use, bleaching prior to guests arrival would solve that.

Birthday/Anniversary Getaway

The perfect place for 2 couples. It was great-each couple had their own space in the evening but we ate breakfast together in the main house each morning and gathered to play cards and just hangout. We were there in September and there were not a lot of restaurants that were open so we did a lot of cooking in the evening as well. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful Setting

We loved this property. The actual set-up of the house, the beautiful view, and the wonderful dock and access to water. We were able to see sea turtles and snorkeled right off the dock and saw starfish and small fish and corals. We loved the pool area. The meal that Bola came and cooked was amazing. Thank you Monica for being so helpful through the whole process.

Quick response from manager for any troubles. Nice kitchen. Well stocked with everything we needed. It is a bit far from town or bars/restaurants which will suit a lot of people just fine. Pool was clean.

Magical time with friends and family

We loved our stay at the Mandarin House. It was perfect for a group of long time friends. Everybody had both space to get away and a great family spaces to get together. We cooked together, hung out by the pool and explored the island. Monica made excellent recommendations for activities, services and restaurants. The staff is great too, they came by frequently to check on things and make sure we had gas for the grill, towels and supplies. I would recommend that they get new paddles for the paddle boards. Overall we had a great time.

We loved our stay at Mandarin. Monica was extremely helpful. A few issues with the dingy. Wasn’t working until two days prior to departure. Owner was on top of issues and trying to solve the problem. All in all we had a great memorable trip.

Can’t beat the location

The location was exactly what we were looking for. The house is a little worn and not as clean as I keep my own house but it didn’t bother us and we would go back. It had everything we needed to have a enjoyable vacation. Hands down our favorite vacation yet. The dingy boat is unreliable so definitely take 2 paddles out when you go out. Monica was very responsive and helped us plan all the details. Take the trip!

Enjoyable vacation

Nice home with good amenities. Plenty of space to spread out or spend time together as a large group. Enjoyed cornhole, the pool, paddle boarding, the dinghy (once the engine was swapped out), the hibachi grill, and swimming off the dock. Communication with the property manager was excellent and the small issues that popped up were addressed quickly. Small repairs are needed, like tightening the cabinets and securing the dishwasher. We had a wonderful time and would visit this property again.

It was AMAZING!!!

This property is truly dreamy. Gorgeous location. The view was breathtaking. Swimming right off the dock boasted many run ins with local marine life. Snorkeling was super fun. Not to mention the neighboring cays with their many sand bars were other worldly showcasing turquoise and white like something from a post card. This place is the perfect island setting. Immaculate digs as well. The owners were lovely hosts. I would highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again when we revisit Exuma.
