  • This home has a spacious lanai from which to enjoy panoramic views during your morning cup of coffee or a relaxing evening. Vaulted ceiling and hardwood floors in the great room make this a great place to build family memories. There is air conditioning in each of the bedrooms. The swishing of palm trees and the soft sound of occasional showers adds a tropical experience.

    Imagine having all this and famed Hanalei Bay just across the street. It's truly one of the premium beaches on Kauai for strolling, sunbathing, seasonal swimming and surfing.

    You may want to check out some of the local farmer's markets nearby for fresh island produce to include in your island-inspired culinary creations.

Great location in a mostly quiet neighborhood. House is situated on a moderately busy road, and with the bedrooms elevated on first floor, the traffic noise is amplified and can be loud at times. We found the traffic noise to be especially bad Friday and Saturday nights, presumably as people returned home (speeding down the street) after late nights out.

Can’t beat the location and view. Easy check in and out. Very relaxing at night but very busy with tourists during the day.

The only downfall, which is no one’s fault, is the porch and living room get really hot during the afternoo and there is no AC in the living room (only the bedrooms which was definitely needed).

Beautiful house

Very impressed. Great location. Kitchen ware and utensils in great shape. We had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Street traffic was a little busier than we expected. Had a great trip!

Perfect location

The house was in a perfect location in Hanalei. The house was great and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking paraphernalia. I only wish you could get your kids in a lock box at the house instead of picking them up and dropping them at the realtors office by the airport.

We had a great time staying at Pua Melia. The location is perfect with easy access to our favorite beach in Hawaii and going to town is only 10 min walk. However, the only bad experience was our first night. We were woken up at 3am by a loud noise that sounded like someone was trying to get inside the house. As it turned out, a man was banging his car door or possibly the hood of his car. The car was parked across the street and it appeared that he was sleeping in his car too. We were about to call the cops but he eventually stopped. Long story short, it turned out that he was a caretaker of the 8 million house in front of the Pua Melia. The house doesn’t provide shampoos and conditioners. Most rental properties we’ve stayed in have these available. Maybe this is something the property should have available for their guests. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely comeback at Pua Melia.

This was an ideal set up for our group of six. The kitchen was very well equipped, one of the best kitchens in any rental I’ve ever stayed in. The downstairs bathroom was nice to have as an extra. There were plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas etc. We highly recommend this house and would definitely stay here again.

Great family house

We love Hanalei and have stayed in houses on Weke several times. This house has a great layout for a family of four plus two grandparents. The kitchen is well stocked and there were plenty of towels for all of us. Our only challenge was the heat due in large part to no trade winds. There are individual air conditioners in the bedroom but not in the living area. We asked for some fans and they were quickly delivered. We would have liked the house to be cooled down a bit before we got there. We actually wondered if the heater could be on by accident. Of course a very good solution was just across the street so we were in the ocean often-which you would do anyway.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great house. Great location. My daughter timed it and says it is a 3 minute walk to the beach and 7 minutes to Hanalei town. Great views of mountains and beach. This was our 3rd trip to Hanalei and our favorite house so far. Our favorite activity was walking to the beach in the morning to surf, walking to town in the afternoon to eat and look at the shops, then back to the beach for the afternoon and sunset, followed by dinner at the house.Everything in the house worked well. We did not need the air conditioners. Just opened the windows for ocean breezes. Garage is stocked with chairs for the beach and a couple umbrellas and coolers. Plenty of towels and the kitchen was set up with everything from rice cooker, to toaster oven. The only thing I wish they had is an outdoor shower, but not a big deal because there are showers at the beach and a hose at the front of the house.

Great time at Pua Melia!

Our family had a wonderful week at this house. If you prioritize location and views, Pua Melia cannot be beat unless you're literally trying to stay beachfront. There is a lot to love about the property - location, views, easy beach access, really comfortable beds, and the property management company is very helpful and responsive. I should add the air conditioners in the bedrooms were an awesome, unexpected touch for Kauai. The west facing windows in the bedrooms provide amazing views, but it also meant the bedrooms get hot, and having the in-room air conditioners in the bedrooms was great. For us, there were just a few things that prevent us from giving the house a 10 out of 10 rating. As a family with young kids, the lack of beach stuff was a bummer. There were plenty of chairs, two coolers, two boogies boards, and one (somewhat broken) beach umbrella, but no sand toys, no sand wagon, and no other beach gear. The lack of outdoor shower was also a challenge for us. The hose is good for sandy feet, but our family is pretty active in the water, which means lots of sand in swimsuits - it was really challenging trying to get sand off bodies outside with just a hose. There was some bright colored carpet stains in the corners of the bedrooms that was likely from water damage and certainly caught the eye. Finally, the downstairs laundry room had a really unpleasant, musty smell. Overall, the location, views, and beds/rooms are fantastic and we had a great week!

It was so beautiful and spacious. All of the rooms were a nice size and two of them had ocean views. Even the one that didn’t was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. The ladies at the office were also so nice and accommodating and if we had any questions, they were quick to get us answers.

Happiness in Hanalei

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay in Hanalei. Pua Melia is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, yoga, and more. There were a cooler and chairs for the beach. It was perfect for our family of 3 adult couples. I would recommend this property to my friends and family.
