"Where else on Maui can you find a seven bedroom, seven bathroom private home that exists in a botanical garden? This place is an Upcountry Shangri-la, whether you’re working or playing. It mixes the utilitarian (see above about bedrooms/ bathrooms) with the Romantic: jaw dropping views, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, and a view to the night sky that would make an early explorer just as relaxed. I’ll bet there are two dozen interesting trees on the property: an epic Banyan tree, an avocado tree, citrus trees, and many more of the flowering variety I couldn’t identify. There’s a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, and a set of common areas that make you want to hang out. I was part of a crew that was filming on Haleakala. We needed a place up the mountain that would make our daily commute manageable. I highly recommend."

"Custom pole house with views of ocean, stars and Haiku countryside. Closest you can get to a 5 star tree house. All the amenities you could want in a home that seems too remote to have them. Our favorite was the sliding doors on 3 sides of the house - opening them created a nearly constant tradewind breeze, along with the sounds of birds, crickets, and the occasional coqui. And the roosters as the sun rose each day, letting us know it was time for another day of adventure. Caretaker John is an extra joy - always around for adventure or cuisine choices. In fact, most of our dinners were at local eateries he had suggested. We even shared a meal and bottle of wine together - talking and listening to story after story as the sun set on this one of a kind banana plantation. We ate yummy apple bananas nearly every day, and John even made sure we had a half dozen or so on the day of departure. Don't miss this jewel of Maui. We hope to see it again."
