This is our second time staying here and again it was a wonderful experience! The location is great for a drive to A bay and even over the boarder to Canada. We had fun on the kayaks that were provided and walking around the lane.

We loved our stay at Catherine’s cottage. We have a wonderful time with our family ages 17-75! It was well stocked with all the things we needed for a great stay. It was clean, comfortable and the time on the screened porch at night was everything. Great memories made, lots of kayaking, cooking, eating and napping! Thank you for this wonderful space - we will be back next year!

The cottage was ideally located on the St. Lawrence. Just be aware that there are lots of steps down to the dock. The only minor drawback was access to the firepit. I am in my 70's and you have to be a bit of a mountain goat to access the fire pit.

This is a great property! We enjoyed being right on the water and having a quiet neighborhood to walk the baby around while still being close to many things to do in the area. The main living areas and kitchen in the home are much bigger than they look in photos, and since it's one story, it's a great property if you have a baby who is on the move! Thanks for a great stay!

The house is perfect for our group of 8 adults/teens/children. Clean and well stocked. Water level was much better this year making getting in and out of the bay much easier than in years past.

I rented this for my daughters family, which consists of two little boys (3&4) and a 15 year old daughter. It was the perfrct home, with the most beautiful view! And Catherine was absolutely amazing to rent from! This home had all the comforts of home and more, and Blind Bay is a slice of heaven!

Our family has rented homes before in different areas. Catherine's home was the best kept and stocked that we've used. The weather was perfect as was the fishing. We enjoyed visiting Clayton and Alexandria Bay and even spent a day in Canada. Catherine was a very gracious host.
Loved the area

The property was very clean and spacious with a beautiful deck to watch the sunsets over the bay and the ships pass downriver in the channel. The marina in the bay was convenient for gassing up the boat or grabbing ice and other items. Dock was a little shallow/weedy but accessible with a deep vee boat with outboard.

Pine Cottage was wonderful for four adults and two children under 12. You never get tired of the views and the screened and open porches are great. Fishing was challenging as we were new to the area but we figured it out. Parking for 2 vehicles and boat trailers was good. Communications with Catherine was great. We plan on returing.

We had a wonderful stay at Pine Cottage. Catherine gives great attention to detail and it didn’t go unnoticed. From the easy check-in/out process to the little things such as labeling the light switches, everything was smooth. We spent most of our time on the porch and screened in porch and had a blast looking at the ships passing. The cottage is handicapped accessible inside which was a huge plus for our family. Our 2 Saint Bernards enjoyed running around in the yard and relaxing on the porch as well. We can’t wait to stay here again next year. Thank you for a great stay!

Our stay at the Pine Cottage was very nice. Everything was as it was represented on the website. We enjoyed everything about the camp and our stay. The only downside to our stay was that the water level was lower than normal so using the dock for a boat and swimming was not possible. Our host was very nice and accommodating and wish we would have brought our labs. Would most definitely consider coming back again in the future.

My family enjoyed our stay in July. This was the second time we’ve rented Pine Cottage and have enjoyed both visits. Catherine is a great host and was very responsive. The cottage was clean and includes what’s needed. We enjoyed visiting Alex Bay, Clayton, and surrounding areas. The younger adults enjoyed nearby mini golf and go karts, as well as waterfront at Kring Point state park. We also rented kayaks from Riverbay in nearby Chesapeake Bay and had fun kayaking in the bay and out on the river, especially near sunset. The enclosed porch is so relaxing and a great place to start and end your day, especially with coffee and a good book. Until next time….

We had a great stay. The accommodations were top notch. The screened in porch was the highlight. Lots of family conversation here. Being in the shipping lane was also a big hit. Although there was no swimming off the dock, the left point just before the mouth, had a sandy swimming area, deep enough where the whole family could jump off the rocks. Being close enough to Alex Bay, you were able to go there and enjoy what Alex Bay had to offer. This was a fishing trip and we caught many different type of fish, and some quite large small mouth. The maps in the house where well used and appreciated. Catherine, thank you for sharing your home.

This place is a find. Bit expensive as rentals go but worth every penny. This was the first time we rented a house that was actually BIGGER than the photos implied! The floor plan is super practical. The ceiling fans everywhere are amazing (we never really used the AC, got lucky with the weather in low 80s). The location, view and amenities are great. Waking up looking at the bay was priceless. Loved taking the kayak on the bay. Sitting in the screened porch watching wildlife, boats and big ships. If we ever go back to 1000 Islands this is where we would stay for sure. Catherine was a super host in every way. Easy communication, answered various questions. We had a problem with the internet not working when we arrived and she was tireless in getting it fixed. Thanks for everything, Catherine!
One note for guests: I missed the detail that we need to bring our own bed linens, Catherine sent a timely reminder, but something to keep in mind when planning your packing especially if not driving. Plenty of towels, blankets and pillows though!

Our week at Blind Bay was a great way to experience the St. Lawrence seaway. Our group of eight had comfortable beds and almost every conceivable convenience. The binoculars came in very handy for watching the Osprey nest, loons, and goslings. There was plenty of comfortable chairs for relaxing on the screened in back porch or gathering around the table for meals and card games. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow but very much appreciated especially by the younger folks. The extra parking area across the road made parking our boat super easy. The narrow, rocky, gravel roads to the cottage were a surprise but we had no problems driving to and from the cottage. The amenities provided by the owner were amazing from the grilling tools to the wine bottle stoppers. We used the dock and kayak a lot. We had little success fishing in Blind Bay so we visited Black Lake where it was a bit more productive. The record high waters didn't help the fishing situation but overall it was an amazing vacation. Many thanks to Catherine for all her helpful tips and excellent communication.

I asked our party of eight, who ranged in age from 4 to 61, for some words about the house: Comfy beds, modern, comfortable, beautiful, clean, and big! The house was more than we expected. Catherine's description was spot on. Her home was clean, up to date, had plenty of space available during sleeping and waking hours, and had many of the items that we usually have to tote along. Talking with Catherine before our stay made our prep much easier. We do not eat out while on vacation and her stocked kitchen was amazing as we cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. We only needed to bring groceries. The fact that she also has a filtration system installed to make water drinkable was a huge relief. There was no lugging boxes of pots and pans from home or jugs of water from the store. Huge pluses! Her dishwasher is perfect for a quick run after meals. The one air conditioner got a workout while we were there as there was a heat wave, but it helped beyond measure. When the heat finally died, the breeze and shade offered by the standing timber were welcomed and we opened every window. The house was just as comfortable. We also enjoyed the washing machine and dryer with supplied detergent. Having fishing men and children make laundry necessary. She also adds paper supplies to get you started. Nice for the first evening and pre-grocery store run.
We have one 20' bass boat and one 21' pontoon boat and the dock held both of our boats perfectly. The new electrical system ran down to the dock made plugging in our boats very easy (no 1000' extension cords needed as were some of our rentals). The dock was wide and we were able to sit on it and fish with the children. One day, we swam just a little off of the dock, but then saw the havoc the resident snapping turtle had on our fish baskets and decided to save our swimming for coves off the main channel. The fishing was great-both flipping for large mouth around Blind Bay and fishing the shoals of the river for small mouth. Catherine's outdoor hose reached the dock easily and made fish cleanup a breeze.
Another great addition to this location was the Aquapod that Catherine allowed us to use. We were able to take the children out in this study 'kayak' and paddle all around Blind Bay. I used it as a stand up paddle board with a child in front while my sister-in-law used it as a sit in kayak with a child in front. Both worked wonderfully. It was nice to see all of the fish while gliding quietly around the bay.

The place was great. Nice view onto the river and easy access to the marina. We made use of the flat-top grill and the smoker everyday. The multiple decks and screened in porch allowed for everyone to have their own space and not feel overcrowded. The house was stocked with necessities and the scene in and around Blind Bay is peaceful. Highly recommend.

Been coming to the River my whole life, and this summer at Pine Cottage was fantastic. We lived on the screened porch and had plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out. The trees next to the fire pit worked great for our boys' hammocks, and we gave the smoker/charcoal grill a good workout. Catherine gave us many tips in her guest guide, especially the walk out to the footbridge and trails along the channel side of Chippewa point. We made the trip every day. While we couldn't swim off the dock (the river levels were atypically low), we did use our inflatables and paddled around, and did swim at close by Kring Point State Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back! Thanks again, Catherine for being such a great host. We felt like guests and not renters.

The property had plenty of room for the 4 of us (2 couples), and would be a great place for a family. The house had everything needed for a comfortable vacation. Catherine our host was a great communicator and let us get in a bit earlier then normal so we could bring our rented boat to the dock. She warned us ahead of time about the lower than normal water levels. We were able to get our 26’ pontoon boat to the dock without to much trouble. We spent almost every day on the water, and it was great to have Hurricane Joe’s Marina on Blind Bay to gas up after some long days.
Great location, Great stay!

What a wonderful week we had staying in this awesome cabin. Everything was as advertised, very clean and a great location overlooking the Blind Bay area. The very spacious kitchen and open floor plan living room was perfect for all our family. The added bonus is having two decks to sit out at: You have the screened in porch area and the outside deck area, both with plenty of room for the family. We could not have been happier to rent this cabin. Our host Catherine was always communicating and in contact with us to make sure our stay was perfect - and it was!
