"Amba Kola is simply fantastic. I stayed with my teenage son and it was the highlight of our trip. The cooking class with Swarna was wonderful and my son loved it. Spending two hours with this lovely lady and brilliant cook was a privilege and the 9 course meal we prepared was gorgeous. It's a family run hotel and they couldn't be more helpful, you feel like one of the family. They also do safari tours too in their own safari jeep, and are just minutes from the park gates."

"Cabanas located in trees - you are literally sleeping outside. Different experience, but nice. Be aware that animals may enter, and the river is very close by, so maybe not so good for people who needs complete silence to sleep. Staff very helpful and nice!"

"We only stayed one night in the properttas part of our tour of the island. The room was large and clean with ensuite facilities and lovely hot showers. It is located close to the Yala park entrance and is surrounded by jungle. We also took the optional safari and cannot recommend it highly enough. "Hotel is good value for a short stay. Pool is a welcomed addition. Breakfasts are decent (coffee is instant!). Room was cleaned during our 3 night stay. We had no issues with AC and hot water throughout our stay. Our friend had a question and had to wait over a day to be able to find the owner. Alley across the street brings directly to the beach. "
