Hotel 1001 Nott
5/5 Excellent
"We had a great stay at this hotel after a long drive from Vík. The property is beautiful and has about 25 rooms. Not a bad view from any room with the large windows that let in plenty of natural light, with blackout shades to block out the summer sun.
The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and went out of her way to accommodate a request they don’t usually allow, which I deeply appreciated.
I didn’t get a chance to use the hot tubs, but they seemed popular with other guests. The attached restaurant serves excellent food, it’s expensive, but worth it for a nice dinner. Just make sure to book a reservation in advance.
Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options and a great way to start the day. If you need groceries, there’s a store about five minutes away by car, but note that it closes very early.
My only complaint is that there wasn’t an in-room coffee maker or cups, which felt like a miss for such a nice hotel.
A few tips for future travelers:
• The shower has no door, so adjust the showerhead before turning it on, or you’ll end up with water all over the bathroom floor.
• There is no TV in the room, which I personally enjoyed because it made for a quiet and peaceful stay. Bring a book if you like evening entertainment.
Overall, this is a comfortable and welcoming hotel, perfect for resting after long days of driving and exploring. I would definitely stay here again!"
