"The house is very charming and comfortable. My sisters and I stayed for our annual sisters' weekend. We could not have been happier. Very quiet, such a nice change from all the noise of a city. The owner is super nice and very easy to work with. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful, quite weekend. We will definitely rent this wonderful home again."

"We all had a great time ; especially our granddaughters. James and Marty are excellent hosts. They took the time introduce all the animals to our granddaughters including the goats, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. The girls got to hold and feed a baby peacock. The accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks for the goat milk for Susan’s coffee. We highly recommend staying at the Byrd’s Nest."

"We hosted a group of 12 overnight with some drop ins during the day. Everyone loved the property! The younger crowd stayed in the cottage while the more senior parents/grandparents were in the main house. We attended an engagement party at the The Whistling Duck and the location of the house was perfect."

"Pictures don't do the Schmidt's place justice. It's a shame we didn't spend more time in the house, but the time we were there was amazing. Kristi and her husband have thought of everything to make you feel welcomed, and are quick to answer any questions you may have. Looking forward to staying here again!"

"Group of us doing the local Texas River Marathon canoe race. This place is located in the middle of where we wanted to paddle. Four bedrooms with 1 bath took a little shuffling with 7 folks getting ready in the morning. Daughter works with horses at a boarding ranch at home. So she was a happy girl here. Nice and quite with plenty of room."

"This little cabin is absolutely perfect for people trying to get away for the weekend. The beds were the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in while staying at an rental for that matter. The owner was very friendly and even mowed the grass before we got there. Beautiful views of the pastures and cattle right outside the windows. Everything was spotless and very cute for a country side cabin. Would 10/10 recommend and stay again"
