We LOVED our stay! Everything about Yaeikan is magical. From the onsens to the beautiful meals this is truly a gem of a place. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek and being walking distance to everything in town. The staff is amazing and the experience is worth every penny.

We stayed in a room with a private Onsen, and opted to have the meals brought to our room (specifically the wagyu option). Our onsen was so nice, that we decided to not bother with the public and reservable ones. I had three baths in a day! The food was exceptional and whilst very different to the British palette, it was all well explained, presented and of course was delicious. The staff were wonderful and attentive, responding to requests and questions quickly and clearly. I was very pleased to see that Yaiken was busy throughout our stay, and I hope it remains so. One small piece of feedback as picked up by others is that some of the furnishings are a bit tired and perhaps need a spruce up - marks on the walls etc. but genuinely nothing that would stop me going again or recommending to anyone. Thank you!

Loved our stay at this lovely little ryokan. Traditional breakfast and dinner were included and they were delicious. Staff were extremely friendly.

This place is over 100 years old and because of that, it has its quirks but I think it adds character to the ryokan experience. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The kaiseki dinner was delicious but it was a lot of food. We had to request to serve us one less meal so we didn’t waste too much. The service and ambiance was great. The onsens were a perfect touch to end our days. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect! Room and other amenities are clean and great services. And traditional ryokan dinner was fantastic!!!! That was a good lecture for my daughter studying culinary arts. The private bathtub is enough to take a good rest. I'll visit again.

This place is cozy and is suitable for family or couple travelers. The staff were very courteous. We ordered in room dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious and very well presented. I give five stars for the food!
