Beautiful hotel in a serene location with an onsen and close to câble car. The shuttle driver got out bags from Gora station and so we can start exploring before 3p check in. Same for when we checked out and they delivered our bags at the Gora station. Such awesome service. Fine dining and we love the open bar at happy hour. Wow!

Great location!! Loved the view and ambience. The onsen hot bath was a wonderful experience. The rooms and amenities were clean. Loved our stay, we really wished we should have booked our stay for couple more days!!

全体として満足しました。 強羅はちょくちょく行くので、また行きたいです。 部屋 リニューアルされていて清潔で、寝具やアメニティーの質も必要十分です。 スタッフの方 ベテランはいい意味で肩の力が抜けた接客。 そつは無いものの痒いところに手が届くような気配はしない感じが、不快でもなく自分は好き。 一部の若い方はまだ堅い感じでしたが、それはそれで普通なのでこちらも良いと思いました。 食事 朝食だけ食べました。 50代以上がメインの客層らしく、量はやや控えめ。 味はホテルのランクを考えて想像していたより遥かに美味しい。 ビュッフェ形式ではなく、丁寧に調理されたアメリカンブレックファーストを温かい状態でサーブしてくれます。 セルフのサラダも野菜が新鮮でドレッシングもオリーブオイルの香りが立って美味しかった。 オニオンスープや淹れたてコーヒーも美味しい。 (晩ごはんは事前予約が必要) ラウンジ ロビーとそこに隣接するベランダで、外の景色を眺めながらビール、スパークリングワイン、リカー類、ジュースや炭酸など自由に飲めます。 天気がいいと大文字焼きの「大」が良く見えるので、明るいうちにチェックインすることをおすすめします。 バー 今回行きませんでしたが、こちらもフリーフロー(飲み放題)ができるそうです。 温泉&サウナ 浴室も露天風呂もこじんまりしていてリニューアルされておらず鄙びた感じ。 お湯は大涌谷から引いた濁り湯で強羅っぽくていいと思います。 小さなサウナがありここも鄙びてるが、こっちは新しくして欲しい。

onsen was very nice. the breakfest was western style and not buffet. the parking is free and can fit a large car. the building is very old but it is kept very clean it is very nice. they also had a good TV that offered netflix which is hard to find. we also got a massage, and it was fantastic.

Receptionsområdet kunne godt trænge til en upgrade, men vores værelse var flot og nyrenoveret. Dejlig lokation med flot udsigt og skøn udendørs onsen. Der var happy hour med gratis drikkevarer om eftermiddagen, som man kunne nyde til den flotte udsigt. Det var fedt. Det er svært at finde et sted at spise i området. Vi vil anbefale, at man enten spiser på hotellet eller reserverer et bord på en restaurant nede i byen på forhånd.

Un bel hôtel, moderne, très confortable, d'une propreté irréprochable doté d'un onsen avec bassins intérieur et extérieur raffinés. Bon petit déjeuner, de style résolument européen (pas de baguettes sur la table mais fourchette, couteau, cuillère). Le personnel est prévenant et le service de navette jusqu'à la gare est fort appréciable, en particulier quand il pleut ! La vue sur les montagnes est superbe.

Staff was amazing. Location was a hike and that’s on Expedia for not say free hotel transfer. Onsen was breath taking. Had dinner at the Gora brewery and it’s not brewery food. They collab with Nobu and it was great. Beer ehhhh! All in all-AMAZING!

We stayed in a Deluxe Room which was fantastic—apparently recently renovated, and the new touches were excellent. We also appreciated the arrival Happy Hour with unlimited drinks and light snacks. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. The service was deeply disappointing. The staff seemed completely bothered by our presence and rushed us through interactions, including breakfast orders. The low point was dinner: we were told the restaurant was 'full' and had to find food elsewhere, despite seeing only about five people dining inside all night. Since the hotel is isolated up a mountain (a 30-minute walk to the nearest conbini) and they offer no room service, we were left stranded with no alternatives provided by the staff. Note to travelers: We luckily found Bombay Hakone, an Indian restaurant that delivered excellent food up the twisty mountain roads in the rain—major kudos to them. As for the facilities, the onsens were nice but small, and the outdoor roof leaked, dripping ice-cold rain on us while trying to relax. I have stayed at many ryokans and hotels in the Hakone area; this was my first and last visit to Hotel Marroad.
