Marienlyst Strandhotel

"The hotel is beautiful and situated right on the water. The train made arriving at the property simple, and without luggage, it was a lovely walk into town and to the castle along a paved path following the beach and harbor. I especially enjoyed taking a swim in the ocean each morning, just steps from the hotel. A plush robe was provided, which was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was very good, with espresso machines and every option you could want, including wheat-free choices and fresh juices. My room was small but nicely appointed. Unfortunately, the window overlooked a roof and was affected by the kitchen’s exhaust fan. Whenever I opened it for fresh air, the room filled with the smell of frying fish. At night, I’d hoped the fan would stop, it did not and ran constantly. Opening a window for fresh air is such a pleasure and It helps me to sleep well, sadly I was jot able to do so during this stay."

"Property was excellent. However, I was given an incorrect access code for the flat which potentially left me with prospect of sleeping in a corridor. This was not at all good. A call the Germany resolved the issue. However, the experience rather puts me off using vrbo again, in case the same thing happens next time. Attention to detail such as access codes is very important."
