Seul Choix bay and its beautiful waters .
Seul Choix is a french word which translates to "only choice". Legend has it that a group of french voyageurs were forced to take refuge here during a storm as it was their 'only choice'. The birdhouse was built by the son of one of the keepers over the course of a long cold winter. It is an authentic reproduction and has recently been restored.
Construction was completed on this lighthouse in 1895 and it was in use until 1972. It is now run by the state and open to the public.
