"Beautiful clean excellently equipped house in Matlock. Great parking, exceptionally clean. Large and spacious with an amazing kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. Lots of hot water. Great communication. Only downside for us as seniors was the very hilly area. We love to walk but the high location of this lovely home meant we preferred to drive, and therefore park, to visit the town. Beautiful house. "The cottage was absolutely lovely, and we would thoroughly recommend. It is situated in a beautiful little village which was ideally located to explore the area. Three pubs within the village and others just a few minutes away in the car. We had a fabulous stay in this wonderful dog friendly cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to return."

"House was very large, bedrooms where spacious & bedding was clean & fresh, kitchen had lots of utensils & crockery but was short of forks, spoke to host & more was supplied quickly, location is fantastic, with lots of lovely walks, there are a few thing that could do with a bit of maintenance ie; a few door hinges need fixing"

"We enjoyed our short stay at the barn. The host Jackie was very friendly and kindly allowed us the use of a field to run the dogs, which we (and they) appreciated very much. There are also lovely walks from the property and Dovedale is only a short drive away. We would definitely return if we are ever up this way again. Thank you."

"Stayed here over the Christmas 2023 for 7 nights. As many reviewers have commented, the property is furnished to a high standard, with particularly comfortable beds. Some of the best we’ve had in a rental. The house is well located with views of Carsington Water and pub within walking distance. Lots to see and do within a short drive. "We stayed at this wonderful house in May 2024 to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. As a party of 8, we had both properties and everything was immaculate and so well thought out, even the provisions for our dog. The area is beautiful and I would recommend this to anyone to wants some peaceful away time to relax and chill. Daniel was very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely return for a longer stay :)"

"We stayed here last April (2023) and it was fine but the back garden was a disappointment and we andvised them of this issue. Unfortunately, even though the drain has been sorted the garden has gotten much worse and needs attention for little cost. Also the neighbours hang their washing over the fence which isn’t a very nice sight to see in a morning. The house itself is fine with everything you need. A long mirror somewhere downstairs would be helpful and a mirror in the first floor bathroom...

"Very nice cottage just minutes from pedestrian entrance to chatsworth house. Unfortunately our 2 dogs arent used to people outside walking by and people walk by from 5am which meant we got a barking symphony very regularly! The dogs loved the park and the peaks. Pubs and places to eat close by. Everything we needed in cottage and a bottle of preseco waiting which is a nice touch"

"Very helpful owner who brought us cake! The property has everything you need for a group of friends, with 9-10 separate beds. Downside is it is bit cramped - particularly the kitchen and the narrow spiral staircase. But for the price it's great and we'll probably go again."
