"There were a lot of lady bugs and stink bugs in the house. The information binder in the house explained that they are aware of the bugs and that it is common for wood houses in that area to have those bugs to some degree. It wasn’t an issue, but something to be aware of. This property is managed by a company, not an individual, and I had to sign paperwork for the Vrbo rental outside of the app to satisfy the management company’s requirements. I prefer all communication and instructions to be shared in the Vrbo app which was not the case. I had to reach out to them via Vrbo messages to get information that they said was emailed to me, but I didn’t not receive. I was charged more than the total price shown on Vrbo. When I called the rental company to ask about the difference, I was told that they only see that “bringing pets” is checked, and they don’t see how many even though when I booked the reservation through Vrbo, I indicated that my group would have a total of 3 dogs with us. The fact that the rental company charges a per pet fee and not a flat pet fee was not disclosed on the Vrbo page AND thr fact that they charged that additional fee without letting me know upset me. I called them to let them know I was displeased and they were kind enough to waive the additional charge because of the misunderstanding, but it was frustrating that it happened in the first place. The house itself was just fine, a little worn but the views were stunning!"

"This is the cutest cabin I've ever stayed in! It's so cozy and peaceful and stocked with everything we needed. The cabin was easy to access, very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 20 minutes to West Jefferson. We walked around downtown West Jefferson, shopped & had lunch and then visited Old Barn Winery. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back another time! Thanks for having us, Paul!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is very remote. No restaurants, gas stations, or grocery stores for miles. So bring it with you when you come ! Neither TV in each bedroom was connected to the satellite dish. Only TV we could watch was in the living room. Both beds were very firm but comfortable. Bring coffee and creamer !"
