"Decent position near other pubs and shops"

"Location amazing - quiet, no noise from main road, great view of lake and direct access to the lovely 10 mile path all around the lake. Beds in our twin room were nice and comfy. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast. Only negative is that the hotel really needs a bit of a refurb/modernisation, but for the price it's still great value. Highly recommended"

"I stayed in the Alcock Tarn suite. Totally gorgeous overall - the bed and pillows were super comfy. The rain shower and rolltop bath were brilliant and the sofa in the living room great for chilling with a book. The fridge allowed for snacks and drinks. Will be back! "
