"It was so refreshing to be greeted with a smile and a cheerful attitude! I asked if the woman owned the place and she said yes. It appeared that they are still updating and preparing some of the rooms. It's a charming vintage motel away from the noise of the interstate. Everything in the room worked, the bed was comfortable, all amenities I needed were there. For the frugal minded this is a wonderful place. I even enjoyed hearing the train pass through across the street, as I've lived near tracks for years. Parking was just outside the door, I felt safe and secure. I would definitely stay there again. I don't need fancy, I want clean, quiet, safe, private and inexpensive. This place was all of that!"

South Platte Cabins & Kennels - Campsite

"The cabins are super cute and offer great privacy. However there were a lot of bugs in the room. I probably killed 6 or more flies and there were randomly a bunch of rollie polies in the bathroom. I had my dog with me and she got grass stickers in her paw. There's joy really a great grass area for dogs close to the cabins. Otherwise it was comfortable."

"Had a great time with an annual summer trip to the lake done every year with family. Ages ranged from 7-14 and adults. The kids and teens loved the property. Short drive 5 min to beach access through vans lakeview fishing camp access with only a 20 min drive to get to martins Bay Area. Very clean- no dishwasher but hopefully this could be added in the future. Great views with a clean outdoor eating space and large propane fire pit for s’mores. Would definitely recommend if visiting the lake for all occasions. Will definitely be back again."

"Really nice, large property with great view of Big Mac. Rooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable, the family loved the back porch for enjoying the lake view! House was well equipped, we really didn’t need anything except our food. The huge attached garage space was wonderful, especially when the weather got rough, glad to have a place to keep our vehicles out of the hail! Host was responsive and easy to work with. Overall had a great time and would definitely stay here again."
