So. This review only refers to the hotel. Schluchsee and the surrounding area is amazing and I absolutely recommend the restaurant Seehof in Schluchsee, although they also have service issues. The hotel is by far not as nice and comfortable as advertised in the pictures and on Expedia as a whole. The rooms are quite frankly a catastrophe in this price segment; no amenities except for a fridge, no AC, no ceiling fan, not even a water boiler. The only cool feature in the entire hotel is the 24 hour coffee machine, which was also a life saver. The hotel itself is in semi bad shape. Very poorly maintained and you can see it, especially regarding all the wood construction on the balconies. The staff is nice, but not particularly service oriented, or competent. The breakfast, at least included, has a good selection. But again the execution is very poor in comparison to the hotel's price. Overall that is the core issue; for 100 Francs less a night, all that would have been acceptable. But for almost 250 Francs a night, it is heavily overpriced. On top of that the whole infrastructure is everything but family friendly. Absolutely no recommendation from my side. I cannot explain all the good reviews on Expedia.

Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und unsere Hunde waren sehr willkommen. Unseren Hunden wurden sogar je ein Futternapf mit "Gudelis" zur Verfügung gestellt.

Tolles Hotel, gerne wieder.

Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer oben unterm Dach und war nur kruz zum Übernachten im Zimmer. Der Schreibtisch war wie der Fernseher recht klein, die Aussicht und der Balkon sehr schön, einzig was störte war die Verdunkelungsgardine, die immer wieder durch die schräge Gardinenleiste runterrutschte und früh die Sonne ins Zimmer ließ.

Das Lodge liegt sehr schön abgelegen, sodass man dort gut entspannen kann. Einziges Manko, im Einzelzimmer 412, ist die Dusche direkt neben der Badezimmertür, sodass der Türrahmen beim Duschen nass wird.

Sehr moderne, geräumige Zimmer, top ausgestattet. Riesiges Badezimmer mit Doppelwhirlpool, sehr zu empfehlen wenn man vor hat, etwas Zeit im Zimmer / in der Suite zu verbringen. Sehr nettes Hotel in landschaftlich toller Umgebung. Zwei Aspekte sollte man wissen: Anreise - zumindest im Winter - bis 20:30h; zudem schließen viele Restaurants in der Nähe abends früh und sind gut besucht , so dass es mit dem Abendessen schwierig werden kann. Freundlicher Service - gab zum Abschied ein Glas Marmelade als Geschenk

Modern gestaltetes Hotel mit geräumigen Zimmern. In Waldrandlage gelegen kann man hier einen Wandertag schön ausklingen lassen. Die Brauerei Rothaus und auch die Brauereigaststätte sind zu Fuß bequem zu erreichen.

Das Zimmer und das Frühstück waren ok. In der Ausschreibung hieß es, mit Restaurant und Bar. Restaurant ist zwar groß angeschrieben, gibt es aber nicht mehr. Und Bar, Zitat Reception : "Oben hat es einen Automat, da können Sie sich für 2 Euro ein Bier rauslassen".

Ruhiges und modernes Hotel nahe Wald und Brauerei

Unser Zimmer (Delux Suite) war modern, ruhig, sauber und geräumig. Im Bad und an den Schränken konnte man erkennen, dass das wohl schon ältere Hotel sanft renoviert wurde - Boden, Möbel und Balkon wirkten neuwertig. Das Ambiente wirkte allgemein eher etwas kühl und kahl. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Frühstückbuffet war ausgewogen und uns wurde sogar ein Glas Champagner angeboten. Das Hotel liegt direkt nebem einem Wald und einem schönen Spazierweg (Schlühüwanapark) - zur Brauerei Rothaus sind es ca. 10 Gehminuten. Den Wellnessbereich können wir leider nicht beurteilen. Den Zimmerpreis (2 Erwachsene + 5-jähriges Kind) fanden wir eher an der oberen Grenze, auch wenn uns der Aufenthalt im Hotel gefallen hat.

Tolle Unterkunft

Wir waren positiv vom Hotel überrascht. Die Junior Suite war sehr modern und sauber eingerichtet. Auch der grosszügige Balkon hat zum Verweilen eingeladen. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut in diesem Hotel. Wir hatten das Frühstück inklusive, auch dieses war umfangreich. Wir waren rundum zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.

Erholsamer Urlaub im Schnee

Wir haben uns in der Schwarzwald Lodge sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbüffet lässt auch für Vegetarier keine Wünsche offen. Die Zimmer im alten Teil des Hauses sind ansprechend aber beim nächsten Mal würden wir eines im neuen Trakt buchen. Die Sauna-Landschaft könnte noch etwas mehr Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre bieten. Die Lage ist super und für Ruhesuchende perfekt. Viele Wanderwege befinden sich rund um das Haus und in nächster Umgebung gibt es zwei Restaurants, die zu Fuss erreicht werden können.

Das Hotel ist schön. In gutem Zustand mit einer spielecke. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und unser 2 jähriger Sohn auch. Wir würden gerne noch ein mal kommen .

Wonderful modern hotel at a beautiful location

A newly built property (I think from 2015, but has a much smaller older wing too). Rural, but very nice location close to the many attractions (skiing, hiking, etc.) of the Hochschwarzwald. Hotel and rooms are modern and in good shape. Great breakfast. Good restaurants close-by. Friendly Service. Overall, it was a great hub for a short week of family vacations for us in the Black Forest.

Welcoming, clean smaller country hotel - loved it!

Very nice, smaller (20 or so rooms) family-run hotel. Sparkling clean, and in good shape, albeit the furniture is starting to show its age a tiny bit (not in any way off-putting though). Super-friendly and welcoming owner. Great German breakfast. Location is at the edge of a nice rural village , but surprisingly close to Fulda or the A7 Autobahn (both <20 minutes away)
