The surprise was the Sala della Musica (Music Room), a veritable treasure trove of historic musical instruments from woodwind to stringed going back to the 10th century. It was fascinating, not least of all to view a forerunner of the bagpipes that the Irish and Scots have claimed for decades. Their piece de resistance however, is a bone flute, claimed to be the oldest musical instrument in the world. They have a local musical group that plays, it must be something special, but we will never get to hear them.

"This property is in a little town in Northern Italy that we chose so we could get to Trieste, Venice, Croatia and Slovenia all is less than one hour driving. The accommodations were so authentic and very well appointed. We loved the small village, the restaurants there as well as the winery. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Italy. The appartement is very cosy and you can sleep perfectly in the beds. Its a perfect spot to relax, visit to the nearby sightseeings or to venice (1h trip). For our young dog it was a paradise. "This is a great apartment which easily fits 6 people. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the spacious apartment a lot. The property manager was super helpful and communication with her was great. It's a bit of a walk to the restaurants but it's totally feasible. A supermarket is also a short walk away. And if course the beautiful Isonzo river which is totally worth going. I totally recommend this place."

Excellent stay in Grado

"Hotel was excellent with helpful front of house staff. Location worked for us as we could easily walk into the town center. Breakfast was very good. Only irritation was that while it is a non-smoking hotel they allow smoking on balconies and don’t separate those who want to do so from others. We had smokers next door and this precluded us getting fresh air and using the balcony. "

"Great experience, place is just everything you need for short stay; relax, entertainment and access to the beach; Parking- it is obvious people will arrive by the car so I think carpark for 1 car shall be included in the price not paid extra. Deposit - 50euro cash and not mentioned before; they asked us to. Return and wash the dishes if we want 50 euro back yet we had no cleaner during the stay However- we would recommend the place!"
