"We wanted to stay near Paestum where my wife's father was during World War 2. The Expedia and hotel web site and previous reviews and pictures and views of the sea swayed us to stay here. The views were fantastic, however - Around 3pm on Wednesday Sept 18, 2013 my wife and I arrived at the Hotel Residence Le Terrazze in Agropoli, Italy. It was CLOSED!!! When I made the reservation I did note the hotel was closed from October 1 until the Spring. We were somewhat frantic being in a foreign country...

"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Santa Maria! The location was perfect—peaceful, charming, and close to everything we needed. "We arrived early at the hotel and we're allowed to park at the hotel while we walked to the ancient Greek Temples which were an easy walk from the hotel. The hotel had beautiful grounds and a nice swimming pool. The room was nice and clean, but simple. We atedinner and it was delicious, as was the morning breakfast. All in all a great stay and we would do it again. If you are going to see the Temples, it is worth a stay. "

"Hotel heaven! Best hotel we have ever stayed while traveling in Italy. 4 star great. From facilities to staff. 1st class comforts with a ambience of stillness and tranquility. A refuge for the road weary adventurer. Best breakfast with great choices and flavors. Will be back again as we loved the Ascea area."
