Guests are supposed to clean before leaving but clearly, not everyone does and the bathroom was filthy when we arrived. Bad surprise! "

The isolated set of cabins are located near a pretty well equipped town, close to the Golden circle and all of its attractions, and far enough out that it gets nice and dark at night if you want to see the Northern lights. "We had the most wonderful time at Stekkar Lodge. The photos really do not do it justice. The views are breathtaking! The lodge is very well appointed, and the hot tub is incredible. We loved having two separate spaces for the two families that were traveling together. Jon’s communication was flawless, and made everything a breeze. We would LOVE to stay here again."

"We stayed five nights in April 2024. We were treated to the Northern Lights our first night. The house is spacious, clean and modern. The beds are very comfortable. It sleeps ten in beds. The area is super quiet. The hot tub is pristine. The host was great and had good documents. The trash/recycling system could be a little more well documented. We did the golden circle, two hot springs and the southern beaches (where we saw Puffins!) Great stay, thanks so much!"

"So this place was a good place to stay as we start our drive around the country. It's in the middle of nowhere (by beach though) but not scenic. The room is comfortable and clean. It's really quiet. The only downside is there was very limited hot water. My wife used it all up in a not very long shower. "

"Upon arrival, we were impressed by the beautiful landscapes. The cabin itself was clean and modern. From the central space, one window offered a view of Icelandic horses. The other was nearly floor to ceiling where we caught sight of the Northern Lights. Renate was quick to respond and help us when we reached out.
