"My friend and I stayed for 1 night at Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan in early November. We were very surprised by how much thought and effort was put into decorating this 100 year old house. It was truly an unforgettable experience staying there.
Our host was like a cherry on top of the whole experience. Even though we could only communicate in broken Japanese, he prepared English instructions for us so communication was not a problem. When we checked out, he even gave us a handwritten note and two...
"This is not central and is ideal for travelers with a car. The staff was very nice and the rooms were spacious, they are located right on the beach which is nice. "
"The hotel was 5 minutes walk from JR train station, the breakfast was very good, a lof of food and yammy. But, the beds, chair and the room was old. The price of this hotel was reasonable."
"Nice hotel, not fussy but clean and efficient. Staff very helpful and rooms are basic. Breakfast is great with healthier choices than most. Will stay again. They have lockers to store luggage. "
"The air cleaner machine in the room was a nice plus; used it whenever we were in the room. The breakfast brunch was very good with a wide selection to choose from; I ate an American breakfast and my wife ate mostly Japanese dishes. Also being able to leave our luggage with the Bell Captain until time to head to the airport was very convenient."

"The Japanese style room is as close to a ryokan stay as you can get. Try the Japanese breakfast - both the Japanese and western breakfast was plentiful, nutritious and tasty. Staff service, friendliness and attentiveness was impeccable. We truly enjoyed our stay. Around the corner to the Dogo Onsen (historic onsen that recently
reopened) although we didn’t visit, seeing the building (at night) is impressive. We can to visit the shrines and do a tiny Henro - this is walkable to the Ishitige Shrine and others close by. Wonderful stay - and getting a room with the in room onsen was very a nice indulgence. "
"Upon arrival the staff kindly informed us of our forwarded luggage from the previous hotel. Which was already placed in our room. Upon entry we noticed 1 piece of luggage was missing. I want to thank the staff of Dogo Yaya for their hard work in getting the luggage to our hotel within 24 hours of arrival. Service was amazing.
The onsen facilities around the hotel were good and the hotel provided the necessary clothes and towels.
The breakfast buffet had a large variety of foods which we enjoyed a lot.
I highly recommend the hotel if you're staying in Matsuyama. Next time I will consider booking a night extra, 1 day was too short. "
