"We spent a week staying at Villa Laruga, Argegno, on Lake Como. The Villa is only approximately 1.2 km walk from the Argegno, where there is a ferry stop and restaurants. From here we caught ferries around the lake to various villages and gardens, they were beautiful. However, the highlight of our stay was the villa with its beautiful garden, set right on the lake & constantly changing vistas over the lake. How often do you get to stay in a villa on Lake Como? "Historic villa property beautifully restored in an amazing location with amazing view. Lunch and dinners on the covered veranda. Would have been better if bath for second bedroom were not down the hall. The owner was wonderful. At our request arranged for a private chef to come to the villa which was lots of fun, and delicious. She also arranged for restaurant reservation for the evening we arrived. Owner communication was excellent! We loved our stay!!!"

"On the positive side Villa Paola has a wonderful view of Lake Como and is very private. Unfortunately, there are too many things wrong with the house and the local management company to recommend it. When we arrived, the lawn was very overgrown, the outdoor furniture was a mess and there was no umbrella as pictured on the website. It took a week to get the local host company Lake Como Holiday to address some of the outside issues. On the first day we discovered the upstairs toilet didn't flush...

The Villa Comacina was a perfect fit for our first visit to Lake Como. "Brilliant stay, lovely property which was clean and modern. It would have been good to understand the pool would be closed until 1st june in advance. The stairs were also quite steep for elderly relatives. Only small things!"
