"Very welcoming to a very comfortable room. We took dinner at one of the local pubs - but be early as they do stop serving food. Ample parking - although I think it was very quiet. It was an icy night - and unfortunately, the heating failed, so it was chilly in the room. Nice and clean - bathroom too."

"I booked in January for a summer weekend, arrived in July to find hotel closed and had to find another hotel. I contacted the hotel through expedia and through their website twice in the week running up to my stay. The Guest House did not respond I arrived to find Hall Bank Guest House locked up and closed. I had to find emergency accomodation for the night. I suggest that potential holidaymakers think very carefully before risking booking Hall Bank Guest House"

"B.P. Lodge has had a chequered history in recent years. Wonderfully it seems to be in good, caring hands right now. En-route from the Scottish Highlands to Kent - it makes an ideal overnight stay with a good evening meal available if you want one. Pooch-friendly Room 11 is lovely. It’s at the rear of the property, so no noticeable traffic noise from the busy main road at the front. We received a great welcome & D.V. look forward to returning "
