Major problem with heating.

The apartment was very cold (not habitable) when we checked in a 4pm. As it was extremely cold in Ghent that day and we were looking forward getting inside and warm, this was really unpleasant. Contacted the StayC number displayed on the wall. Three calls later (including one to a person who answered but could not help because she was driving ). Eventually spoke to someone who advised that we switch on the heating option on the a/c in the living room. This did improve the temperature in that room but not in the bedroom or bathroom. She advised that she would send someone to repair the heating. When we left to go out to eat at7.30, nobody had arrived. Someone came out before we returned home & the heating worked in the bedroom from then on. The heating in the bathroom was not working throughout our stay which made it impossible to shower over the three days. In addition, while we had no difficulty using the code to open the front door, the door to our apartment (No. 9) proved much more temperamental, requiring 10-12 attempts to gain access each time. While it always worked eventually, this felt far from certain and was unnecessarily stressful. Finally, there was a strong smell of sewage in the hallway & stairs. The lift stopped working on Sunday afternoon. While the apartment was clean and spacious, it was bare, with a corporate atmosphere & little decorative addition, not as represented in photograph on Vrbo site.. All in all , the accommodation was very poor &
