This town was the site of one of the most significant Civil War battles. Today, visitors can learn more about the event through re-creations and artifacts.
Every American should visit this place. The guided tour was worth every penny and the 100 days of tap and the tour guide at cemetery hill for the tour and ceremony was so informative. Heroic men and women were willing to sacrifice for our country

I visit often for the history. The town was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I took a horse-drawn carriage ride to see the lights! My room was directly across from and within sight of where Abe Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. AWESOME!

We came to Gettysburg, for The Remembrance Day parade. This year, the parade lasted well over an hour. There is always something to see and do in Gettysburg. The battlefield, Sach's bridge, dining at Dobbin House, Gettysburg Eddys, and shopping

There is so much history and things to see and do in Gettysburg, definitely need more than 2 days. I am not typically into history, but this was a very moving experience. Don't miss the Cyclorama in the National Military Museum, it was amazing!

Allow plenty of time to see the battlefields. We recommend following the defined tour route which gives a good explanation of how the battle progresses over the 3-dsy period, and allows you to see many of the famous locations.

Before coming to Gettysburg, get familiar with the history specifically the areas on the battlefield. Watch a YouTube documentary so you can really appreciate the history and struggles this nation endured.

We hired a private tour guide for 3 hours of battlefield from the National Park Service, so worth it,Charlie was a great tour guide. We learned so much and did not have to listen over other people.

Definitely recommend going on a battle field tour. Also, the Eisenhower tour was very interesting. We did a walking candlelight tour that was worth the money spent.

Take the Gettysburg Battlefield tour bus to get a great tour of the battlefields with explanations. They point out things that you wouldn't notice on your own.
"This is value for the money. Older? Yes. A bit rough around the edges? Yes. But location here is great, within walking distance along the main drag. Fancy? Certainly not but the rooms were clean, the water hot when needed, the AC was perfect, the pool was clean as well. The staff, top marks for working with what they have. And that by no means is meant as an insult. Book a room at this old school motel, save some dollars, enjoy your stay. "
