"We stayed at this hotel for my birthday, and overall we had a nice experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in an excellent location. It’s right in the heart of the city, and you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, and many of the main attractions. We booked a room with a Jacuzzi, but unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy it because there was a strong sewer-like smell coming from it. We reported the issue but decided not to use it. Our room phone also wasn’t working, and one of the bathroom lights went out during our stay. We notified the front desk about both issues, but neither was fixed before we checked out. Another small disappointment was that we requested additional bottled water one evening, but it was never delivered. We also found out at checkout that everything in the mini fridge was available for purchase, but there wasn’t a menu or price list in the room letting us know there would be charges. Something to keep in mind is that there is no elevator. We stayed on the top floor (about the fourth floor), so carrying luggage up and down the stairs wasn’t ideal. The hotel has two small pools and a rooftop bar. During our stay, no one was really using the pools, and the rooftop bar never opened, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the location was definitely the highlight of our stay. If I were to visit again, I would probably skip the Jacuzzi room since we didn’t get to enjoy that feature. Despite a few maintenance and service issues, the hotel was clean."

GHL Arsenal Hotel

"I had a great stay at GHL Arsenal Hotel. The staff was absolutely wonderful—very friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. They made sure my needs were met and were very responsive whenever I needed assistance. The housekeeping staff deserves a special mention—they were amazing! They were always kind, helpful, and did an excellent job. Wish I remembered names to give them a shout out! The location was one of the best parts of this hotel. It was perfectly situated between the Walled City, Getsemaní, and the center of town, making it easy to walk to many of Cartagena’s main attractions. For Bocagrande, I would recommend taking a taxi/uber; I used Uber. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed, including a safe. I never figured out how to use the TV, but I also didn’t ask for assistance because I knew I would barely be in the room. The breakfast was okay, but I personally would not pay extra for it again. The selection was decent, but it was not what I was expecting. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend it to others, especially travelers who plan to spend their days exploring Cartagena. This is not a resort-style hotel, but it is an excellent choice if you want a comfortable place with a fantastic location, great service, and easy access to everything the city has to offer."

"This hotel is wonderful, with a great location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and very clean rooms. The only downside was the cold jacuzzi—it should definitely be warm. Also, Cartagena is a lively city, so if you’re looking for quiet nights, keep in mind that there are parties and music in the streets until late. I chose not to stay in the Historic Center, but it was still difficult to fall asleep early because of the noise. Other than that, everything was great. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
