"How fortunate we felt having booked L'Estancat during our trip to Pau. A delightful old farmhouse set in a small farming community in the most beautiful countryside with a view of the snowcapped mountains and the sound of songbirds. "The location is very good to access the sanctuary. The staff is friendly and helpful. The included parking is a bit far away (250m uphill), but street parking is easy to find nearby and free overnight. The facilities are a bit old, but clean. Included breakfast was also very good. The overall value for price is very good. A great option if all you are looking for is a place to sleep while visiting the sanctuary."

"We were really sad to leave Cécile’s home! She is such a kind and thoughtful host. Every morning, after breakfast, she would help us plan our day’s excursions, and just chat with us about families and life. Her primary language is French, so English-only may be difficult, but I’m sure necessary communication is possible. "On arrival we were told that they were overbooked (admitted it was their mistake), we were taken to another house which was about 5k away. Which was comfortable enough for one night. There was plenty food and wine but the food was very simple fare.On our final evening we were told food would not be available, so had to eat in a restaurant about 5k away, we think we would like to try Chambres D'hote again as we enjoyed sharing a meal with all the other guests."

"Visited for a friends wedding - Wonderful family running the place, very helpful and extremely accommodating nothing was too much trouble. Building was in very good condition and extremely clean. Beds were good but a softer pillow would have been my personal preference but that’s just me :) really would recommend this to anyone who needs to stay in the area. "Spacious apartments conveniently located just on the edge of the chaos that is Lourdes. There is a large free parking lot across the street. Arriving on a Sunday, we had to do self check in which was well organized. My only complaint is that the room desperately needed a deep clean. The floors, bed, bathroom etc were clean and I had no concerns about sleeping here, but the baseboards and walls were coated in a layer of dust and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. "
