Room was clean.love the stove/sink and refrigerator combo.fridge did not work but they had a working fridge and freezer there.Loved the deck by the lake. I would not hesitate to come back. Great place to stay.

Clean and pleasant rooms to stay in. Updated living and kitchen space was a bonus. Great Lake view! Extra amenities outside, such as patio on the lake, bon fire etc were great. Linen could be updated. Overall, very good!

Clean little place along Dixon Lake. The property owner was very responsive when we checked in. She mentioned they had just bought it and were fixing it up. It’s small but clean. Maybe some additional lighting and an end table could be added. We enjoyed it. It’s typical of up north.

Our room had been recently remodeled and was in great shape. The room was very clean and quiet. It's not a fancy place but a nice and comfortable place to lodge. It's only a short drive (7 minutes) to downtown Gaylord but still off the beaten track. We enjoyed our time at Dixon Resort and would recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We were on our way up to the UP and stopped over for one night, but we’ll definitely stay longer next time. The hosts were very friendly and gave great dinner recommendations. I love retro style hotels and this one was a gem. Exceptionally clean and quite.

This place was perfect. My son and I went on a golf weekend. It was the best place we could’ve stayed. I loved looking at the lake rather than a parking lot. Everything was perfect. Looking forward to staying there next year.

We are so happy we came here. It was cozy, clean and the hosts were so kind. The view was so pretty. We enjoyed the fire at night and the calm of the setting. We are already planning our next stay for summer.

This is not a resort, it is a motel that you have to clean before you leave or pay for cleaning. There is an electric lock with a keypad on the door. You cannot lock the door from the inside of the room. You literally have to push the button to lock it on the outside, then shut the door and pray that it worked. 80% of the time it did not work I would have to reopen the door, shut it, and keep locking it until it finally it would work. Which does not make you feel very safe. The AC is located only in the living room. So in summer months, you’re gonna be super hot back in that bedroom. This is similar to a long row house with multiple apts. It was decorated very nice inside and very rustic feel which I did like. But you have no privacy. If you open your curtains, people will see you and everything that you are doing. The windows are big in the living room and also the windows in the bedroom are the same, everybody can see you. Last thing is that the walls are super thin and you can hear everything. So people who are also struggling with closing and opening their doors, you will hear throughout the night. And anything that they do in the room beside you, you can hear. If none of this bothers you, then this can be the place for you! But honestly, the lock issue was my biggest problem! I need to feel safe!

Great little motel

I love staying at Dixon Lake - I've done so for last 4 years and it is consistently a perfect place for me to stay. It's tucked away in a quiet location, on a beautiful lake. Great for decompressing after a stressful day! Big rooms to accommodate a family, even a dining room table/work space, and plenty of space outside to have BBQ/picnic or play in the lake. It's quaint (1950s/1960s), nothing fancy, this isn't the Ritz, but always clean and always great service. They're so friendly and helpful! Strong Wi-Fi, decently stocked kitchenette, big fridge, and within 10 minutes of downtown Gaylord which has plenty of restaurants and shopping.

My son and I stayed for a long weekend at Dixon Lake Resort in room #3. We absolutely loved our time at this cozy resort. I had my coffee outside every morning, enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. We went kayaking and fished every day we were there (caught a ton of fish). The rooms had a retro style, which we loved, and it had everything we could possibly need, such as: regular sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, sink, coffee pot, tv w/cable, and a tub/shower bathroom. Our hot water wasn't working the first evening, but the owners were extremely quick to fix this issue and it was fixed in a matter of just a couple hours. This place is a true gem, you can't beat the views, the lake is beautiful, and it's so peaceful. We will be back! Thank you for a great weekend.

Cute renovated motel rooms. There was a vintage Magic Chef cookstove that had working burners, there were pots and dishes so we could cook our corn on the cob dinner. Quiet, safe location. Only small thing is that there is a window air conditioner, so if you sleep in the bed by the window then it blows all night right on or over you. If the weather is cooler, this would not be relevant. Bathroom is small but everything works including the shower, good water pressure. Great for an overnight stop on a road trip!
