Great pet friendly stay!

We did not stay. After showing up at 7 pm to find out that they were not ready for us we found an unmade bed, a broken bed, dirty towels on bathroom floor, trash and beer cans in the trash can, etc. We were supposed to be able to check in at 3pm. We used the app to let the owner know we were an hour away. He respond saying he'd just seen our resveration and that the place would be ready at 7pm. His guys showed up after 7 to "clean". It did not appear that they had any cleaning supplies with them. We left and found other accommodations for the night. The owner did refund us promptly. Gotta at least give him a nod for that.

Owner had poor communication from the time I reserved the cabin. Got a thank you for reserving email and said he would contact me later with check in instructions. Never did follow up. I had to contact him the day of our stay and get the check in information. Arrived at the location to find out that one of the lower bunk beds was broken and simply had a sign on it stating it was broken. Cabin wasn't very clean. Lots of hair everywhere in the kitchen and bathroom, had to do our own cleaning of the rental when we got there. Owner tried to charge a pet deposit fee a second time. Had to remind him it had already been paid at the time of reservation. Wouldn't stay at this location again. Wouldn't recommend this owner or rental property.

This was our fourth year staying at Western Skies. During previous stays we’d experienced issues that demonstrated an apathetic approach to the guest experience (no towels, soap, utensils, TP), but given the proximity to rendezvous beach, in addition to limited rentals in the area, we acknowledged minor inconveniences and kept rebooking annually. We even had some more major inconveniences historically, in which the property owner offered little resolve (no running hot water, Wi-Fi, and AC challenges), but we also made an effort to discount those inconveniences to keep our Bear Lake tradition alive. This year however we we experienced MAJOR health and safety issues that the property owner clearly knew about in advance of stay, but would take no accountability for, specifically MICE POOP in the stove drawer, which speak to a rodent infestation problem, and a disconnected fire alarm too high to reinstall. I contacted the property owner who acted like cleaning up the mice droppings would be a one and done fix and made no effort to acknowledge that BOTH health and safety issues should have never been part of the guest experience to begin with. I tried to resolve the issues with the property owner, but communication was disrespectful and lacked any accountability. We made an effort to rebook another location in the area on the second day of our stay, but there were no other properties available near Bear Lake. We spent the rest of our stay anxious about rodent health hazards.

We had a great time staying at your cabin and eating amazing custard from the Custard stand right next door. If we had more time I would have tried the e-bikes! Thank you!

Cabin itself was clean and cozy, beds were comfy, extra a/c supplied so that was appreciated. All appliances worked and clean. Issues: No grassy area at all, dusty driveway which is only awful b/c of the neighboring business' busy patronage - using cabin circular driveway. No broom or Swiffer in the cabin, our bottom bunk was broken, mattress on the floor, not enough washclothes, handtowels or bathrug. Overall Great place to stay with kids or dogs.

This place was in a perfect location, and provided us with a fun weekend spent with our two dogs. The cabin however lacked a few key things, there was no soap in the bathroom, one single fork in the cabin, and the sheets had fresh stains on them. The location was not exactly correct, and they owner did not answer my two phone calls when we were trying to find the place. The morning of check out I messaged the owner to inquire about how to clean/check out of the place. He did not respond or ever call me back. We would stay here again, but not for $300/night.

This was super easy camping. Just bring your clothes, essential care, and food. Super close to the beach...it was different for us staying in something like this...we love Bear Lake...the grands loved having the Custard Shop so close...we will be back! Thank you!

We loved the location of the cabin. We were there over July 24th and the resort just down the street did fireworks open to the public. We had a great time. The only bummer was that the wifi wasn't working well and we couldn't use the t.v. We were so busy playing at the lake that we didn't have much down time to worry about it. The beds were comfy and I loved sitting in the rocking chair on the porch. The property manager was very quick to respond to my questions over email. I would recommend this spot.

This property was perfect for our group of 5. The space was a lot bigger than I expected and the kitchen was actually a full kitchen! We had all the space we needed to sleep, eat, play games and then get to the lake and play easy enough!

Such a fun trip! The cabins were everything we hoped! They were a perfect location right across the street from our parents' and other family members' campsites who stayed at the Blue Water Resort. So we were able to access the beach, and use their pool, park and grass for volleyball! We hiked the Limber Pine trail, did some race car driving in the rain, at Renegade Raceway, went to Bridgerland Adventure Park, rented a boat and jet skis and spent the day at the beach. We also enjoyed the new specialty ice cream/custard store right by our cabins! There are 8 cabins in a horseshoe shape with a fire pit in the middle. It's for all the cabins to share, we used it two nights and no none else seemed to want it. They aren't huge but are nice, clean, and comfortable. I think the beds in cabin #8 might be softer than in #7, but #7 had 2 bunk beds (one was broken, so there were 3 twin beds.) The door in cabin 7 just needs some sandpaper to make it shut but it doesn't shut and doesn't lock. The bathroom had beautiful white towels, but only had 2 bath towels, 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel, which is a little weird considering all the people it's sleeps. We made due but we reused sandy/pool towels which wasn't ideal! It does have some kitchen items, but I recommend bringing any pots/pans you need (as they aren't nonstick and no spray is there, and they are small) bring also utensils, can opener, napkins, and dish soap. Overall very happy to know about this place and plan to come back!

Perfect for our needs as a stop over on our way home after a long trip. Only gave 4 stars for accuracy of listing because the listing said it had a fireplace and there was not. We made a point of bringing firewood. The listing also said there was a TV. There was. However there was no content to watch or at least no instructions on how to access any content. No DVD, no cable or satellite not even an antenna. Luckily there was an HDMI cable and I brought my laptop so we were able to use it.

PROS: - Comfortable stay at a reasonable price - We had our dogs and had enough room for 2 medium sized kennels. Cabins are right off the main road so be careful if you have dogs that run off! - Owner was quick to respond to messages. - Extra blankets - Close to Rendezvous beach and garden city. - WiFi was a good speed - Fire pit area is FCFS, but pretty large. We shared the space with another family during the first night and had plenty of space for everyone. CONS: - Although the cabin is very clean, the higher parts of the walls are rather dusty. We had the fan turned on during our second night and woke up with terrible allergies. - The bathroom door gets stuck opening/closing. It feels extra loud at night when people are sleeping... (cabin 7) Other notes: - You have to bring your own TP, trash bags, cleaning spray, dish sponges. There is one roll of TP and the trash cans have bags but there are not extras. There was hand/dish soap but nothing else for cleaning. - Bring extra plates/utensils if you have more than 4 people. - There weren’t any kitchen knifes, so if you plan on cutting veggies, etc bring one from home. Overall, for the price, this was a great deal and I would definitely stay again. I’ll just be a little more prepared next time lol

My first time to Bear Lake was awesome, this property helped me celebrate my birthday with my family my pups and my friends all in one place it was close to all entertainment and food. It was a blast! Thanks so much!

We rented the cabin for 4 days. I requested clean towels but never received any. We ran out of paper towels, garbage bags and toilet paper. They had nothing for us to wipe the counters off or sweep. It was nice just not run real well or stocked so we could be there for more than one night.

Just stayed at this property in cute cabin #7 July 24-26th for a short vaca with our 5 kids. The property owner was prompt and welcomed us with a phone call to touch base and see if we had any needs or questions. He told us about the firework show that evening that was directly across the street from the cabin, which was a great show. Based off the pics and 1 negative review I was expecting something a little older or maybe to be underwhelmed I guess, however this little one room cabin is adorable! Clean, modern, and had everything we needed to stay comfortably for a couple nights! The added bonus was that we were expecting only 6 beds based off the photos, but there was an additional bunk bed in there so we didn’t need the extra air mattress we had brought to fit all our kids so that was nice. Everything functioned well - fridge, A/C, hot water, etc. The only negatives - the lower bunk of one bunk bed was broken. However I assume the property owner is aware and will be fixing that. It didn’t bother us since we didn’t need it anyways. Also, the bathroom door is really tight at the top corner and it is very difficult to open and close. That was a little annoying because it was so loud (Especially in the middle of the night) and took some effort to open and close but we made it work. Last, the bottom sheet on our bed would not stay on the mattress when we would sit or lay on it. Suggestions to the owner: 1 thing that might be great is to have an additional mirror somewhere outside of the bathroom so multiple people could get ready. And, larger sheets to wrap the mattress would help with cleanliness so you don’t wake up on the bare mattress. A broom would have been great to help with extra beach sand we inadvertently brought in with us; and maybe an extra roll of TP and a few more cooking items and a dishes scrubber would be great. All in all we highly recommend this cute cabin!!! It’s away from the hustle and bustle of the busy time shares and KOA’s but within 5-7 minutes of Garden City where you can find everything you need, and 10 -12 minutes from the marina and rendezvous beach. Awesome location. We will definitely be back! Thank you for providing such an awesome place for families to stay!!

Half the lights didn’t work, no broom, broken bed, coffee maker broken, no silverware, fridge did not work. For how much I paid I expected it to be a much better experience with the cabin. Would recommend looking at other places.
