"The hotel was very nice and as expected, good breakfast and the food from the restaurant was first class. Travelling as a family a big draw of this accomodation was the pool. This was not the cheapest hotel around I figured this to be because it had a pool. I was a little surprised (albeit not the for the first time I'm Italy) that the pool was extra charge, and not a small amount either. I'm not sure if I missed it but this was not communicated on hotels.com. The pool was very nice, it was clean and had good facilities, but it comes at a cost. All in all very nice. Lost a few points for service as during our whole stay there was no one on the front desk to speak to."

"Extremely uncomfortable bedding... the worst I have experienced in my world travels. Staff was fake-friendly. For example, I requested an additional pillow and was asked why I needed it. The indoor POOL is NOT part of their property! Don't be fooled by the images and captions. It is a neighboring property, use for a fee $, and limited hours. Room & hotel were very clean. Food was good. Hotels grounds were nice. "

"We had a fabulous stay at Villa Bucigna (end July 2025). We were a large group of 17. 14 adult's and 3 young children. There was ample space for all of us across the 2 villas and wellness centre. Communication with Peter and his family during our stay was excellent and some minor issues were dealt with promptly. The location is stunning with fantastic views and the sunsets over the mountains are fabulous. Its restful and peaceful location (although the cicadas can be quite vocal during the day!) but you are staying in the countryside. The swimming pool, hot tub and sauna are wonderful. And we used all of them during our stay.The swimming pool is on lovely sunny and sheltered terrace below the villas.The houses were well equipped for every day use with a lovely large kitchen in one of the villas which made catering for all of us a breeze. We also had some wonderful meals cooked for us by local chefs Max and Cri. The food and service was exceptional, both friendly and attentive. The antipasta spread was amazing with a cheese and meat selection along with such appetizers as artichokes, chicken liver pate on toast, bruchetta and veal in a tuna sauce. Mains were also delicious with two courses followed by a dessert. All served with wines from the region. They were more than happy to cater for dietary requirements, we had a vegetarian and a person with a nut allergy. All at a very reasonable price, wine included. Would thoroughly reccomend the experience. "

"Hotel Fontanelle is in a small town. There is a superb restaurant (pizzeria notte) and the surrounding area is quintessential Italy. Just check your bus schedule, and be patient with the late arrivals. "

"Lovely hotel with an excellent restaurant providing exceptional breakfast choices. Along with lunch and dinner I can't fault the food. Friendly staff and room cleaned to a very high standard every day. Surrounded by wonderful scenery, and only 20 minutes from Imola, the perfect peaceful location to explore the area. Hopefully back next year...A+++++"
