Birding, Biking, Relaxing! You can do all three! You will have FREE BIKE RENTAL with access to two bikes, plus a pair of binoculars. Newnans Lake is 5 miles from downtown Gainesville and 7 miles from UF campus. Newnans Lake is a migratory bird path. A Birder's Paradise! This 1250 sq ft upstairs apartment overlooks our own citrus grove. You feel like you are in a luxury treehouse! Very peaceful and quiet here. You are surrounded by original artwork throughout the apartment. A memorable experience! HIGH SPEED WIFI throughout apartment. Washer and dryer available. Let me know if you require 2 beds. Create Memories. Relaxing. Over 200 five star reviews by prior recent guests and prior to being a Vrbo Host..
Looking to do some outdoor cooking? We have a grill for you to use, along with utensils for the grill. You just provide the charcoal and lighter fluid.
One hour massages available at $45. All services are on a cash basis.
I do ask that you please not open the windows as the moisture and pollen will affect the paintings. Please keep the outside door locked when not on the property. There is a nice patio with comfortable chairs and swing on the garage patio for fresh air and your enjoyment close to your entrance.
Be sure to watch an amazing sunrise or sunset on Newnans Lake at Palm Point, a nice walk from the apartment.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights while we learned about Gainesville and UF. We enjoyed this host and his property! Beautiful, peaceful setting close to town but the feeling of being in the country. Many animals to see. The lake is beautiful. The property was very clean, well stocked, full of historical artifacts and culture! Will stay again!!!!

10/10! My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights and were both sad to leave! We felt welcomed, and comfortable in the apartment and surroundings. The wildlife and koi pond were delightful as were the artwork and history displayed inside. Very clean, slept well, awesome shower, and the kitchen has everything you could need. This was a great place to relax on the porch watching and listening for birds as well as a jumping off point for walking Paynes Prairie and touring UF. We hope to return!! Thank you, Greg!

Greg is an excellent and attentive host. He greeted us when we arrived and gave us the grand tour of the apartment and the grounds. We met the koi and the turkeys and enjoyed fresh oranges from the orchard. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The bikes were a great bonus - we rode down to the lake and hung out with the alligators and the birds. If we're ever in the Gainesville area again, we'll definitely stay here.

Calming getaway from the hustle and bustle, yet still a quick drive to the university, downtown and Archer Road area. Apartment is very cozy, peaceful, and we enjoyed the nature including all the birds and even saw a ton of turkeys. Greg was very hospitable and we will definitely be back when we visit Gainesville again.

This place was amazing, had everything and more! We were there for 3 nights and it flew by, wishing we had more time to explore all around and enjoy the mornings on the porch watching the wild animals roam so peacfully.

Great place to stay for visiting Gainesville or Micanopy. Loved watching the turkeys in the morning from the outside patio area. Sofa bed was unexpectedly very comfortable along with the queen bed. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals including a Keurig! (So many other places don't have Keurigs.) Thank you. And Greg was a wonderful host. We learned a lot from him regarding the history of the area and more. If we needed anything or just had a question, Greg was just a text away.

We stayed four nights at Greg’s apartment. Beautiful paintings and family memorabilia graced the walls. The apartment was spotless and comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen was well-stocked, there were plenty of towels and blankets provided, and the bathroom was spacious and modern.The apartment is sixteen steps above the garage, where the bikes we used were stored. The apartment is a stone’s throw away from Newnan’s Lake and a short bike ride away from the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail. The area is a biking and birding paradise. After a hard freeze, the temperature was in the seventies, so February felt like Spring.Greg was a gracious host. He even surprised us with a bag of oranges and grapefruit from his trees. We highly recommend this place.

Greg’s place is a fantastic value if you’re attending a Gator game! The location makes the drive to the stadium on game easy- we didn’t encounter much traffic and easily got a Lyft. Greg is an enthusiastic host excited to share his history and artwork on arrival. He brought us citrus from his grove and best of all, let us use his bikes to ride down to the lake. I had a wonderful time here. Everything was beautifully arranged inside the house. There’s very nice pottery and artwork decorating the walls. I’m happy about my timing because the Orange, Grapefruit, and lemon trees were loaded with fruit! Greg was a fantastic host who is very knowledgeable about many things but especially the surrounding area and the state of Florida. I highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful time in this natural setting. Greg was a fantastic host and gave us a thorough tour of the property along with it's history. This upstairs apartment was beautifully decorated, and very complete with everything we needed. It felt like home being there. The surroundings were natural, serene, and peaceful. It was still just a short drive to Gainesville and the University of Florida. We hope to stay there again when we return to Gainesville.

This place is an amazing find. Host is welcoming and you can tell how much pride he takes in his property. It is a quite spot close to, but away from the crowds at the University. We saw a momma deer and her two fawns, and found the tree frogs on the windows at night amusing. Definitely plan on staying again when Iwe are Gainesville.

Relaxing and comfortable March stay!

We were in Gainesville so i could compete at the World Indoor Masters Championships ay the end of March and this property was a the perfect place for us to have as a base. The location was quiet and peaceful with lots of local wildlife to enjoy around the apartment. We particularly enjoyed the historical touches around the apartment and the shower was a highlight! We would love to come back.

Very pleasant

Beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I was able to enjoy my family and relax with my daughter, who attends UF. I was able to make home cooked meals and catch up on life without the UF hustle and bustle. Greg was a fantastic host and we will be back! rk to share (atehere).

A Gainesville Gem

Greg has created a remarkable property for those seeking a quiet get-a-way. He was a perfect concierge upon arrival and we truly appreciated his knowledge of the area he has called home for so many years. In addition to a beautiful kitchen, large bedroom and a spacious, bathroom, Greg's home includes a wonderfully curated collection of items from his own family history. In addition to the many migratory birds we watched while sipping our coffee and tea, there were plenty of wild turkeys to watch and we even had a quick appearance of a fox! This was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to come again.
