Lakefront Retreat At Randolphs Landing

"We were not given check in instructions before we got to the site. It ended up being fine, the shop at the end of the drive has the owners of the house and they will help you with the check in. When you enter the camping area it has signs saying that you cannot bring a boat into the camping area but where the house is you have to go into the camping area. It kind of throws you off but you are fine to bring the boat and park it at the house. It has a large driveway. You are right next to the boat launch and the bait shop. The private boat slip isn’t really true. There is only one spot to pull your boat up to the dock and you cannot tie off there overnight. The kitchen has plenty of mixing bowls, pots, pans, and dining ware. They do not keep a stock of toilet paper, sponges, paper towels, extra towels, or extra bedding. Any time we ran out of trash bags or TP we just went to the bait shop and they were more than happy to give us what we needed. I am sure it would be the same with blankets and towels. There isn’t really much of a beach for swimming in front of the house but if you walk less than 100 feet from the house to the dock area there is a little beach with some chairs. If you have more than 2 people where you want to sit on the porch together you will want to bring your own chairs. Overall it was a nice house and easily fit 6 adults and 1 kid. I wouldn’t mind staying here again, I would just have liked a little more info beforehand."

"It really is well stocked, the kitchen has just about everything you could need. There was however very little plastic for the kids, but no big deal. The "sharper" knives were pretty ineffective at cutting especially things like tomatoes. The house was pretty clean, but it was clear they have bugs inside the house (although hard to not expect at least some) The fishing from the dock was uneventful, the channel is only about 4 feet deep, lots of geese and turtles. We had a boat so we were able to get to the lake easily, and the launch process was simple and close by. The dock has no steps leading into the water so we had to use the boat to get out of the water, but it was fun nonetheless. The rails on the dock are sufficient, but aren't meant for smaller kids. Keep a good eye on them. Overall the stay was very good, the kids enjoyed the loft and games, the yard was large enough to play in and the extras in the shed made it fun for them."
