"Wonderful location, run by genuinely lovely people. We took the self catering apartment option and it suited us down to the ground. Slightly remote if you are not fully mobile. We did not want to hire a car, so used taxis a lot. We were given a driver's number and received excellent service. There is a handy bus service into Funchal."

"Had a short stay here on a whistle stop tour of the Island. Close to Monte and the city centre and easy to get to the Pico do Ariero walk for an early start. A lovely place and the host Stephanie was wonderful. Bedroom upstairs was spacious and comfortable. Gardens outside where we had our breakfasts are beautiful and overall it was a relaxing pace to stay. "

"Very helpful staff. Has a great pool. Our room had a fantastic view. There is a cafe on site with semi limited hours. it was walkable to the main part of town but too much to walk back to since it is way up the hill (but it is doable for many). You can request a breakfast basket for a cost and we did it once and you can pick as many items as you want and it was very nice and well worth it. We would stay here again! "

"Well situated in Funchal. We found it a straightforward walk into the city centre and near to the airport bus stop. Friendly and helpful staff. Small swimming pool on roof which helped cooling off after our levada walks. "

I didn't like the fact that the bedroom lacked plugs, only two in the room (both ocuppied with tv and lamp) and none in the bathroom, which in these days, with cellphones and computers to charge + hairdryer, shaving machines, etc, is not very comfortable."

"Very nice to live in the absolute center, close to the cathedrale. Wonderfully noisy in daytime and evenings, folk dancing and music. Cafees and restaurants all around! No pool, no sun terrace."
