Kilmersdon is said to be the "home" of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme, the fabled hill being recently restored as part of a local Millennium scheme. The old thatched cottage (Jack and Jill’s cottage) stands at the side of the road and the figures of Jack and Jill with their pail of water can be seen atop the roof of the cottage.

"We had a lovely two night couples break at Kimbers Farm. The shepherds hut is so comfortable and just the right side of luxury rustic! Possibly the comfiest bed I’ve slept in away from home. The wood fired hot tub adds a sense of fun and is easy to use. We also enjoyed cooking outside (gas hob available inside!). The shower/toilet “block” is great, well equipped and clean. Naomi and Darren were so helpful too and helped resolve minor issue we had. We ordered food from the farm shop and the...

"We had a wonderful stay here. It was incredibly quaint, peaceful and clean. The location was perfect - close to all the key areas. We visited Bruton, Wells, Weston, Bath and Bristol. It took about a 30 minute walk to nearest pub. The little touches made all the difference, and the warm welcome (complete with Cider) was truly appreciated. "The Shepherds Nest is the best Shepherds Hut we’ve stayed in, for space, amenities and for hospitality. It’s well built, furnished to a high standard and there’s a lot of thought gone into everything.
