"This motel is just outstanding. The retro vibe and laid back feeling is wonderful. The inn keeper is attentive to guests and the on site staff happy and kind. You rarely find a 50 plus year old property that is modern , spacious, pet accommodating and priced so moderately. You can walk to the historical light house which is #1 National Park in the Outer Banks. The rooms have all been remodeled and offer tons of counter space- modern showers- all tiles and spotless housekeeping. The beds comfortable and views out the back window of a sand dune just added to the surprise of this motel. The Swell needs to be recognized for its uniqueness- cleanliness and location. 10-10! "

"Over all the cabin and the property was kept up very well. The only thing i did not like was the mattress pad was to thin. There waa cushion form it "

"The Villas are located in great location on Hatteras! Directly next door to Teachs Lair Marina and Hatteras Sol Restaurant. Rooms are very nicely appointed and very clean! They are in the process of exterior renovation and based on that portion they have completed it will be super nice when complete. I will be back to Villas next time I charter a fishing trip!"

"We loved the location, quiet and easy access to the beach! The house was clean and comfortable for the four of us and we enjoyed being able to easily access the Food Lion for essentials and Buxton Seafood (great place to buy seafood, steaks and ciabatta bread). Restaurants and shopping were within a 5-10 minute drive from house. Love Hatteras Island!"

"The beach decor was so cute and the location was perfect for a beach getaway! We would definitely stay here again."

"We enjoyed crabbing off the dock. The house is not far from plenty of public access spots to the beach and sound side. Kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance we could need. The waffle maker was a hit with the kids. Our group appreciated the huge dining room table where we could all sit and eat together. The housekeeping could use some work as we found candy wrappers between the bed and the wall when we were putting sheets on the beds and a couple of roaches. Over all it was a good house for the price for our group and we would stay here again."
