The Captain's Cottage is in a truly wonderful location down a private road to Davison Head. It overlooks the beach at the Isthmus which is a popular spot to sit and enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see! The Cottage is situated on its own half acre lot with several old growth cedar trees and abundant wildlife. The privacy you will find here may be just what you’re looking for.

Built originally as a fishing shack, it has been totally remodeled into a cozy seaside cottage for two. The kitchen is well equipped including full sized stainless steel appliances and a gourmet range. The living room has large picture windows to bring in the light and view regardless of the season. The bathroom includes a pedestal sink and tiled shower. The bedroom features a custom-made Craftsman style Queen bed, a quality mattress, and a new wall mounted Smart TV with YouTube subscription including local channels. Outside is a great deck with a propane BBQ and comfortable seating. The perfect place to enjoy dinner and a glass of wine during the summer evenings.

Roche Harbor Resort and Marina is a pleasant walk away. Follow the charming country road and discover a “secret” pathway which leads you on a scenic route along the water’s edge. The recreational options are endless. Everything from Orca whale watching, kayaking, bicycling, hiking, shopping and dining. Bring your own kayak and launch from the Isthmus, Posey Island is only a short paddle away!

Weekend in the San Juans

My wife and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary here - and we loved it. San Juan Island in itself is fantastic, but our stay was even further enhanced by staying at this property - a perfect getaway for 2. Quiet, modern but quaint, beautiful views, tucked away near a few real gems on the Island. We loved it!

Island get away

The property was peaceful with a water view to enjoy your morning coffee. It's also a great neighborhood for walking. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings and bedding were high quality. We loved our little weekend trip!

If you’re looking for a quiet spot near Roche Harbor that accommodates 2 people comfortably, this is an excellent choice. Great shower, great bed, comfy couch and decent size kitchen. Highly recommend.

Fabulous San Juan Cottage

This is an amazing cottage in a great neighborhood. Everything was very clean, extremely comfortable and wonderfully equipped. We walked down to the water to watch the sunsets and even saw a fox cross the road and six deer in the yard. We'll definitely be back.

GREAT location! GREAT house!

This house was clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and in a great location! It had a view of the neighborhood isthmus, and we enjoyed that beach every night at happy hour! The cabin is located closer to Roche Harbor than Friday Harbor, and for us, this was a very good thing! Away from the hustle-bustle of the more touristy area. Close to Westcott shellfish company, an Oyster farm that we went to every day! Would highly recommend this VRBO!

Wonderful Property and Stay

Hello, This is our second stay at Captain's Cottage. This one was even better. The property manager is great, the unit was spotless and there were upgrades since our last stay. Very comfy bed, nicely stocked kitchen - even with food film, foil, spices, sweetners and other goodies. They even had an oyster knife so I could shuck my own yummy fresh oysters from up the road a bit. If you like a quite, water view getaway, this is the place. It is for two adults only, but if thats you, enjoy!
