Private Boutique Farm Cottage and Activities on Rural Ireland
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I stayed with Eddie and Anne for 11 nights and we were very sad to leave on that final morning. As you have likely read in other reviews, the interaction with the hosts, their family and their animals, combined with a peaceful rural Ireland setting makes for the ideal relaxing getaway. It you are looking for a quiet rural place to stay, look no further, this is it! The property is exactly as you see it in the pictures. What you do not see is how spotlessly clean the property is. This cottage has been rebuilt from the ground up by Eddie to replicate a 300 year old farming cottage. The in-floor heating keeps the cottage very comfortable and buring a peat fire in the stove just caps the experience. Make the time to take the "bog walk" with Eddie to learn about the history of the area, harvesting peat and, of course, the mystical Irish Fairies! Bonnie and Jessie (The farm border collies) greeted us happily every morning and welcomed us back every evening. Jessie is an eager sheep herder making the sheep dog demonstration fun and informational. We hope to stop by Ireland West Farm stay again one day. Truly a lifetime memory. Thanks a million Eddie and Anne!"

Church View B&B
10/10 Excellent
"The room was clean and well maintained. This was the only place I felt comfortable walking around in socks instead of my slippers. If I was a barefoot person, I would have gone barefoot. It was dim and I found out later it's just what they do as an energy saving measure. The room was warm (no A/C) but we were able to open the window for some fresh cool air while we slept. There was a hairdryer and other amenities. Shampoo was provided and thankfully, not combined with body wash. The shower needs more water pressure (rinsing my hair took forever) and the drain is slow. Bathroom sink narrow (toothbrush for reference). There was a lighted vanity mirror in the bathroom but due to electrical problems, sadly it didn't work. I put my makeup on near the window for some light. Maybe a battery operated mirror? Breakfast was not included in the price which is weird for us (in the US a B&B includes breakfast). It was good food and cooked to order. There was music pumped into the dining room and different music wafted in from the kitchen. It was a bit of sensory overload. I recommend the same music for both!"

Family & Pet Friendly Restored Cottage in East Mayo with 4* Bord Failte Award
10/10 Excellent
"A magical stay near Bracklagh — perfect for familiese had an excellent stay at Tigh Mhic in Bracklagh with our two boys, and it’s easy to see why this spot is so special. The quaint country road leading to the cottage set the tone right away, and we were delighted to find Shetland ponies and surrounding farms just outside — a real treat for our kids. A local cat took a liking to us during our stay, and it became one of those small, unexpected moments the boys still talk about. One of our favorite surprises was the hidden bar in the cottage — such a unique and special touch that made the stay feel even more memorable. The location was ideal for us, as it’s close to family in Cloonfad, making it easy to combine a relaxing cottage stay with visits nearby. The host was incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us find the house, which we really appreciated. We’d happily stay at Tigh Mhic again and recommend it to any family looking for a peaceful, scenic base in this part of Ireland."
