The approximately 235-acre Alice Rocks Nature Preserve offers miles of hiking trails, beautiful cliffline, and a true back-to-nature experience. Preserve access is by permit only and must be arranged in advance through their website.

Welcome to Alice Rocks, our comfortable Frenchburg cottage perfectly positioned for travelers who want access to both Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge. With room for up to 8, easy paved-road access, Wi-Fi, a full kitchen, gas grill, firepit, outdoor games, and Alice Rocks Nature Preserve right next door, this is an easy home base for hiking trips, lake days, fishing weekends, and family getaways.

• Alice Rocks Nature Preserve: The property is adjacent to Alice Rocks Nature Preserve, a +/-250-acre natural area with miles of hiking trails and beautiful cliffline. Preserve access is by permit only and must be arranged in advance through the Preserve’s website. Staying at Alice Rocks does not automatically include access.

• Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, gas grill, firepit, picnic tables, outdoor games, and plenty of space to relax after a day exploring.

• Sleeping Arrangements:

- Bedroom 2: Queen Bed
- Bedroom 3: Queen-over-Queen Bunk Bed
- 4 Queen Beds Total

• Bathroom:
- 1 full bathroom with tub/shower combo

• Pet Policy: Alice Rocks is dog-friendly with a $100 pet fee. Please make sure pets are selected at checkout so the appropriate pet fee is included with your reservation. Dogs only please, with a maximum of 2 allowed.

• Fresh linens and towels are provided. We also include an Essential Starter Pack to make your stay easier: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, 3 dishwasher pods, 3 laundry pods, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, 3 trash bags, and 1 fresh sponge.

• Firewood + Grill: A gas grill is provided, and we provide propane. Firewood is not provided, and we encourage purchasing firewood locally to help prevent the spread of invasive species and protect our beautiful wooded areas.

• Parking + Access: Alice Rocks offers easy access with no AWD or 4WD required under normal weather conditions. Gravel parking is available for approximately 3–4 standard vehicles. Trailer parking is available next to the cottage, although some maneuvering may be required.

• Location: A Family Dollar is within a short walk for quick supplies, and the property makes a great base for exploring both Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge. Longbow Boat Dock is approximately 15 minutes away, while Natural Bridge State Resort Park, Nada Tunnel, The Gorge Underground, Miguel’s Pizza, and other popular Gorge destinations are less than a 40-minute drive.

• A Note About Nature:
You’re staying in the heart of Kentucky’s Red River Gorge, surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and all the nature that comes with them. While our cabins are professionally cleaned and routinely treated for pests, occasional insects and other woodland visitors may still make an appearance—especially during warmer months. This is a natural part of staying in a heavily wooded mountain environment and does not necessarily indicate a cleanliness or pest-control issue.

Spend your days hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, zip lining, boating, or sightseeing, then come back for dinner on the grill and a relaxing evening around the firepit.

- No refunds are permitted due to weather. No exceptions. Winter weather (snow/ice) and flooding can occur in the area. You should be given the option to add Trip Insurance at booking check-out.
- Please be aware that no refunds are permitted for cancellations on holiday rates, which includes but is not limited to, New Year`s, Valentine`s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
