Moondance Cabin at Red River Gorge - Hot Tub

"We enjoyed our stay at Moondance. The owner was responsive throughout our visit, and when I mentioned a few minor maintenance items, he was receptive to the feedback. The cabin itself was clean, well maintained, and had an amazing view.One thing that initially caught us off guard was the drive to the cabin. The route passes several very run-down properties and we were all wondering what we'd booked. Thankfully, once we arrived, those concerns disappeared. The cabin and the neighboring properties were very nice, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. I mention this only so future guests don't panic like we did on the drive in.The only significant issue during our stay was the number of wasps around the property. The host shared that this is an ongoing challenge. Since my son is allergic to bee and wasp stings, we weren't able to spend much time outside. Also, keep in mind that this is a very remote location, so medical assistance or other services are not immediately nearby, as they would be in a more developed area. While we were in the area, we enjoyed several nearby attractions. The SkyLift ride was beautiful, and the Natural Bridge is definitely worth visiting. Be sure to walk down underneath the arch after you've been to the top—the view from below is just as impressive. We also highly recommend the Gorge Underground clear kayak tour through the caves, which was a unique and unforgettable experience. Overall, we had a very good stay!"

"This is a cute little cabin. It is conveniently located to a lot of trails and attractions. The people here are friendly. They were definitely dog friendly - which we love.If I could make a couple of suggestions - it would be to add more storage to the kitchen. There is no where to really put any non-refrigerated food. There is no counter space at all. A longer chain on the ceiling fan in the bedroom would have been nice instead of having to stand on the bed to turn off the light in order to keep the ceiling fan on. Lastly - it was disruptive to have someone working/doing laundry at 8 am right behind the wall where we were still trying to sleep on the morning of check out. Check out time is not till 10 am and we really could have used the sleep before heading out on our 3 hour trip home. Other than that our time here was great."
