"Oberstdorf is a beautiful hiking paradise with plenty of Hotels. Hence there is no need to stay in the sub-par Fuggerhof where you are put into a basement room while the unfriendly front desk staff tries to up-sell you into an above ground room - as if that were a special feature. Just to be clear - there was no mention of below ground rooms during booking and the basement room wasn't a walkout basement but did have a small window at the top of the wall, eye-level with the grass roots of the ill...

"The entire hotel staff are very gracious, professional, and accommodating...made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The hotel offers free parking on the premises. Der Wellnessbereich ist grundsätzlich schön, leider ist der Pool-/Schwimmbereich nicht vom Saunabereich getrennt, weshalb der Lautstärkepegel sowohl im Saunabereich als auch im Ruhebereich regelmäßig hoch war. "Don't plan on skiing early, as the front desk manager refuses to check you out before 8 am. Also, parking is limited and the property is totally overpriced for its condition. The front desk manager on March 2, 2025 literally yelled at guests who wanted to check out at 7:35 am, despite assurances from the previous day's shift. Never seen any Hotel staff in the world being that unprofessional and angry!!"

"The property is a bit dated but the kindness of the staff and the INCREDIBLE views won me over. Even though the hotel is a bit older, I slept wonderfully and the food in the restaurant was fantastic! (We had pork with spatzle, chicken soup, Dubai Chocolate drink and an Aperol Spritz). Would stay here again. Beautiful walk along the road the hotel sits on. "

"We chose to stay, having done so about 6 years ago, and as before this was a wonderful hotel in every way. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are large with comfy beds (we had a Mountain View room), and the breakfast is fantastic. We ate in the restaurant on one evening, which was really nice too. We used the hot tub and sauna every day, but being brits we aren’t so sure about the “nakedness” of this facility! Not for us…. Anyway, great hotel in a perfect location, and enough parking available once you suss out the way by car to the hotel in the pedestrian zone. Basically, highly recommended and we hope to be back sooner than the next 6 years. Thanks to all staff in the hotel. We even had a pack up breakfast for the final day as we had to leave for Munich airport before breakfast started"
