We enjoyed swimming in the nearby Ovens River, birdwatching in the beautiful garden, walking to local cafes and hotels and short drives to Alpine Perrenials, Bright and Mt Hotham to view the mountain tops. "The cottage was amazing and the facilities were fantastic, especiallythe open fire. Only criticism, we ran out of firewood and kindling on our first night of a two night stay and had to purchase our own firewoodand kindling. The reason given is that some guests steal the wood. So they only provide firewood for one night, though we paid for two nights accommodation. Bring your own firewood."

"The 2 bedder house is located on rural property 50m from the owners home, with flat surrounding grounds and large leafy trees. The house was very clean and had all the amenities needed to have a relaxing time. Would highly recommend Hughes Hideaway to any one looking for a peaceful holiday. Graham."

"We love the farmstead. So much to do, short drives to waterfalls and rivers, or chill on the deck watching the cows, feeding the sheep, or just stare into the distance at the amazing scenery. It’s our second time here, first time was for 3 nights, this time was a week and we didn’t want to leave. My 5 year old learnt to ride his little dirt bike here. Created some amazing memories"
