Stairs and hallway dark, aromatic. Toilet had column in front of it, shower tiny. Water stains on ceiling. TV Remote, some lights didn’t work. Smoke detector missing. Loud partiers from bars outside on street kept us awake for hours through closed windows. Inner door near front desk kept outer from opening fully. Refuse blocking stairs down as you enter. Definitely not “boutique,” esp for price.
This property is right in the heart of a popular bar/party area, which is why we booked it. (Other reviews complain about the noise, but this is to be expected given the location). It is within a 10-15 minute walk of Romerberg. The room itself was in good condition and clean, fairly large. We did not have any noise issues, I think because we were on a higher floor and towards the center of the building.
However, there was a very unpleasant smell immediately outside the room that would seep in. It was a combination of raw sewage and mildew, which was concerning and unpleasant. Another issue was that reception was not open most of our stay. We were able to check in during the midafternoon, but were not able to reach anyone the next day to see if they offered a baggage holding service past check out (assuming no, since there was no one ever at the reception from 8AM to noon).
I checked in and out in about an hour. The area seems quite unsafe. The hotel sits in the nightclub and bars area, so it's super noisy and the people seem quite sus.
There was no one at the reception and the phone number provided at the entrance does not work. I used the one on Google and they gave me the instructions for self-checkin. The room itself is not so bad, with modern features, but there were no towels available. I tried to contact the hotel again and the lady, although willing to help, couldn't get anyone to bring me the towels. Instead, she was trying to give me instructions to take towels from another room.
I decided I wasn't going to stay there and checked out.
DO NOT stay here!! There are plenty other options in the city (especially in the other side of the river) that bring much more value for money!
