"With this property, we were not renting a house, we were privileged to stay in someone's home. It's a 50's classic, not perfect, not completely renovated, but classic, comfortable, and complete with everything we needed plus extras. We loved it. With a lot of rentals one would find plastic dishes, flimsy silverware, and an odd assortment of towels, decorated in early thrift-shop. Here you have first quality dishes, flatware, and glassware, just what the family would have used to treat close friends to dinner. They even shared their espresso machine, which could have been easily locked in a closet for safe keeping. These folks chose to share their treasures with us, on display. We were honored. About the location. It's as if you are alone, living in a clearing in the woods but the country highway is just yards away from the driveway's end. There was a little traffic noise, but Fertile is a little town with not a lot of traffic in and out. Quirky? a little. Dated? in spots. If you let "dated" bother you, frankly, rent a house. We got to stay in a family home and thoroughly enjoyed it."

"We stayed at Cabin Elenor, and loved how cozy it was. Spacious for a family of 3, plenty of board games, movies, and books as well. They also had a full kitchen with supplies, and fully running refrigerator and water. Bathroom was clean and was supplied with hygiene items as well. The only con inside the cabin was that the sink in the bathroom was backed up, and started filling with dirty water right away, so we had to brush and wash our hands in the kitchen sink. The outside was wonderful. It has a deck you can walk directly out to, and we ate breakfast there outside and enjoyed the scenery. They also had a nice little fire pit right outside the cabin, which was surrounded by large boulders; it made it feel very warm and secluded. They also have plenty of trails for hiking, riding an ATV, and playing area for children, which included a swing set just a short walk from the cabin, as well as a half court basketball court and hoop. Many things to love about this place! We will be back someday."

"Easy check-in and directions with communicative hosts. Video exactly tells you want is there and possibly to bring. Nicely mowed area around cabin with low-to-no bugs. Would stay again!"

"The peace and quite was needed. Had a fire one evening while we looked at every star in the sky. Spent our days in Itasca on the water and went for dinner in Park Rapids. Overall awesome location and far better then tent camping. "
