"The Hotel Kakola is a unique property. It's one of the most unusual hotels we have stayed in because up until just a few years ago it had been a prison! They certainly did a fabulous remodeling to make it into a lovely hotel. The gals at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Henna went above and beyond spending time with us to give us ideas for touring the area. We enjoyed both the outdoor terrace and the buffet breakfast. It's a bit eerie to see handcuffs on the backs of the chairs...

"Room was spacious and felt clean but too Spartan for the size. The bed was two singles pushed together but was actually comfortable, although there were no end tables and a weird shelf which prevents anyone average hight from sitting up in bed to read. The bathroom setup was not well thought out. When we arrived there were people sitting on the floor in the very small code-secured space before the elevator which felt a little sketchy, and even more so when they were still there half an hour...
